Good modern fit for a 2A nib

Hello all,

I have an extra 2A nib and feed that I salvaged from an otherwise irrecuperable pen body and I would like to go for a modern/vintage match. Most modern pens seem to go for bigger nibs, though.

At the moment, it's in a Noodler's pen, but meh...

Anyone knows if it is compatible to a typical JoWo #5? I would love to put it in a Franklin-Christoph 45, just wondering if it's feasible.

Need more info; what is the curvature, width, insert depth ...

You are trying to compare a WATERMAN 2A to modern nibs when there was no standard nib nomenclature. To see if things will fit you need to know stuff like thickness at the base, radius of the curve, insert depth and several other factors.

Does it fit properly in the Noodlers pen that it is currently in? If so, would it be easier to figure out the sizes/compatibility from there...?

Sorry, I really don't have any of that information (but yes, I do have the feed). I was simply hoping someone might have done something similar before to tell me what they had to do to make it work. As for the Noodler's nib creaper, the original feed didn't fit but the curvature of the nib was close enough to that of the Noodler's feed that it worked. It was pretty loose, however and had to be set very deeply, almost up to the breather hole.

I have used that size nib in a Waterman Laureat, because the original Laureat gold plated nib corroded. There are other similar sized Waterman pens that might use a 2.

I understand that the 2A designated nibs made in Canada and England; otherwise they're the same size as a #2 nib.
