I've been looking for one of these for months now. I was led to believe that they are no longer in production and the only places to get them are second hand. Ive had no luck at Car boot sales and antique sales. eBay I thought I was on to a winner but turned out if I wanted this stand it would set me back £200. No thank you.

Just typed it into google and boom there they are. Brand new and up for sale in the UK. I have to say I think today is going to be a good day.

This is just a thing of beauty.

Wish someone in the states sold these? I'd love one for my desk at work.

That's very nice. I'm glad you were able to find it. For those not so fortunate there's the working-person's version.

Thats a brilliant idea Ill have to see what I have at home. So far all I can find is a cat. She doesn't seem to pleased to sit and hold a pen in her paws for 5 seconds never mind the whole time I'm at my desk... Ill have to reevaluate my attempts.

My version might require you to eat a burger & fries first (a.k.a.: McKid's meal). As for cat's and pens well...........:jaw:

Local hardware store that carries fine pens (well, they also have lots of art supplies, etc. not just hardware) was having a pen sale...I stopped to look. They had a dark blue, large pelikan...I asked about it....it was not marked and I almost had the salesperson convinced to sell it to me....but then he said he did have to check. I left my biz card and asked for him to let me know!
Just got the call...they discovered that the blue IS discontinued and the store will be holding onto it! Offered to order me the white for $100+.....
Oh well...I probably would have felt guilty about talking him into selling it!

I have been looking for one of these Pelikan ceramic pen holders, too, have bid on a few on eBay but always get outbid - the going price seems to be around $50-$75 - nothing like the £200 or $100 prices quoted here, but still more than I was able or willing to spend.

The link you gave us goes to the home page of the Niche Pens site, Mod_wolves, and I was unable to find the pen holder/stand anywhere on the site. Perhaps they are sold out??

For those that are interested in some uncommon Pelikan pen holders, here is a link to a thread on FPN with photos of some real beauties, including an example of the large blue holder that Nomdeplume was almost able to get: Pelikan Ceramic Bird (http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/229432-pelikan-ceramic-bird/?hl=ceramic)

I'd like a Pelikan ceramic pen holder, but I guess I'll just have to keep on using my plastic toothbrush holder...

Tee hee - only kidding. :) Better put my wife's toothbrush holder back where it belongs before she notices.
