Has anyone used Michael Sull's American Cursive?

I am almost finished with Mott's reprint of Spencerian Script 5 copy books, but would like some more practice.

The American Cursive is a great book, but it is not Spencerian style. Michael Sull has a book called Learning to Write Spencerian Script. It is excellent. I bought it from here: http://www.johnnealbooks.com/prod_detail_list/215 It is simple and straightforward.

Thank you for the link. How is the paper in the practice pad and cross drill pad as far as writing with a fountain pen? The Mott Media paper is not the best for ink but I've used my pens anyway on it.

Should I purchase both the practice pad and cross drill pad in addition to Learning to Write Spencerian Script?

The paper is pretty good, much better than the Mott Media paper (I used that set of books too). It is not, however, Rhodia or Clairfontaine. Some inks bleed, some do not. In the end, since any pen hand is about practice, practice, practice, I ended up using a Clairfontaine notebook with Seyes/French ruling to practice. You will not go wrong with Michael Sull's practice book if you buy it in addition to the Learning to Write Spencerian. The Learning to Write Spencerian is just text.

Do you suggest the small or large size for the practice pad?

I am trying to understand what the cross drill practice looks like. Do you have a picture of your work in the cross drill practice book?

What I have is the practice pack. It consists of 8 x 11 sheets of paper preprinted with practice examples. It also has blank guidesheets with the slanted line that one can photocopy.

The size of the letters is two: small or large (they both look pretty big to me, but I am a person who has a microscopic normal hand.). The sheets are pre-punched, so I just put them in a binder. (Green sheet on green binder, sheesh, these OCD pen people!!)

Small letter practice sheet:

Larger letter practice sheet:

Thanks a lot for the pictures. I write small myself. Sometimes I will use one line space on the Clairefontaine Seyes paper. Although my handwriting looks better using 1.5 line spaces.
