Condition (n.b.): All pens listed below have been disassembled, cleaned and restored with new sacs installed in the last couple months. Each is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other issues. These pens have no cracks, chips, personal engravings, missing parts, bent nibs, misaligned tines, or threading issues.

1. 1920s Parker Lucky Curve Long Ringtop (BCHR in pinstripe, GPT, button filler, 14k M Superflex Factory Stub). This full-sized pen is of the same dimensions as Parker’s 2/20 models of the period, measuring 5 7/16” capped. Made of black hard rubber in an attractive pinstripe chasing pattern. The pen, which bears a Lucky Curve banner imprint on the barrel and Lucky Curve Feed, was among a plethora of models Parker manufactured in the early 20s before they winnowed down their offerings with the introduction of the iconic Duofold. To fill this button filler, one simply has to unscrew the blindcap and depress the brass button underneath. The 14k Parker Lucky Curve #2 nib on this’n is quite a treat. It’s a factory Stub with Super-Flexible variation. Unflexed, it lays down a smooth and consistent M line on the down-stroke and XF on the cross-stroke. Under light pressure that M line widens to a BBB+ (see writing sample. I personally prefer flexible stub nibs for Copperplate since they keep my lines straight and my letterforms clean. It’s also a very versatile combination, adding character to one’s hand even when jotting down a quick note.
Condition: excellent. Minimal fading of the hard rubber, which still retains a deep black hue, and minor wear to chasing. Smooth, lustrous finish to the surface with no significant scratches. Some weakening to the center of the imprint, but still fully legible when the light catches it.

2. 1910s Parker Jack-Knife Safety #20 1/2 (BCHR, NPT, button filler, 14k F Superflex/Wet Noodle nib). Before the Duofold, Parker was known for their black hard rubber flat top button-filling pens with patented Lucky Curve “X-Mas Tree” Feeds and Jack-Knife Safety caps that prevented ink from leaking into and out of the cap. This model is marked 20 1/2 on the end of the blindcap, indicating (nib) size and chasing as opposed to smooth HR. It measures 5 1/4” capped. To fill, one simply removes the blind cap and depresses the button, which engages a pressure bar to deflate the sac. One-handed filling with no lever to get in the way when trying to suck those corners out of the bottle! This pen is equipped with an early 14k #2 Lucky Curve scroll nib with teardrop breather. The nib is so soft it verges on a Wet Noodle, requiring a light hand to prevent it from flexing. It’s capable of Super-Flexible variation, laying down a smooth and consistent F line (perhaps XF if you have a *very* light hand), which widens to a BBB+ under light pressure (see writing sample). Well suited for calligraphic styles of writing, but does require one to slow down a bit under full flex to ensure a consistent line.
Condition: excellent. The hard rubber retains its dark black hue with minimal fading. Moderate wear to the chasing but it’s all still plainly visible. ‘Jack-Knife Safety’ imprint on the cap is deep and fully legible while the ‘Lucky Curve’ imprint on the barrel is weaker in the center banner but otherwise crisp. No discernible brassing on the nickel-plated clip. I have one of these myself with a similar nib and it’s one of my favorite writers for correspondence.

3. 1920s Parker Curve #4 1/2 (BCHR, NPT, button filler, 14k XF Super-Flexible nib). This #4 1/2 is one of the larger Lucky Curve models (1/2 designates a *chased* hard rubber pen), which is roughly equivalent in length and girth to Waterman’s #55/#7 pens. Measures 5 7/16” capped. Quite a bit scarcer than 2- and 3-sized models. ‘Lucky Curve’ barrel imprint and LC/”X-mas Tree” feed. To fill, one simply removes the blind cap and depresses the button, which engages a pressure bar to deflate the sac. Super-Flexible 14k Parker Lucky Curve #4 nib is true joy to write with, laying down a smooth and consistent XF line that flexes to a BBB+ under light pressure (see writing sample])). Not as soft as the nib on pen #2 above but stronger snap-back, impeccable flow, and nice hairlines give maximal control over the line. A sweetheart nib for Spencerian and Copperplate styles.
Condition: excellent, with strong, even chasing and minimal wear to the fully legible imprint and number stamp on the end of the blindcap. The hard rubber has evenly faded to a chocolate brown hue. No brassing to the nickel-plated clip.

4. c.1914-1922 Sheaffer Flat Top (BCHR, GFT, lever filler, 14k XF Wet Noodle nib). Measures 5 5/16” capped. Shortly after starting production of their patented “self-filling” (lever-filler) pen in the early 1910s, Sheaffer produced this fine looking pen. Early details include the ‘Sheaffer-Clip’ stamp on the clip, large ‘Sheaffer’s’ imprint, and #2 ‘Self-Filling’ nib, which is a Wet Noodle in no uncertain terms, requiring minimal pressure to flex from a smooth and consistent XF to a BBB+ (see writing sample). If you usually write with a heavier hand, it will be difficult for you *not* to flex this'n. While the nib is very well behaved under light pressure, the primitive feed does have some trouble delivering enough flow at full flex, giving it a tendency to railroad. Slowing down and experimenting with different inks could mitigate this, but it’s something to keep in mind. This is the softest, most flexible nib I’ve offered in some time, but it can be finicky under pressure.
Condition: excellent. It’s rare to see 100 y/o black hard rubber in such a flawless state. Factory black color with no discernible fading and factory deep chasing and imprint. It’s as though one were transported back to 1915 and beholding a brand new pen through a store window. The gold-filled trim is likewise unblemished but for a sliver of brassing all the way around the bottom of the cap band. No other issues.

5. 1920s Sheaffer #2 Ringtop (BCHR, GPT, lever filler, 14k XF Superflex nib). Measures 4 9/16” capped and approx.. 5 3/4” posted. Another fine example of an early Sheaffer flat top manufactured roughly a decade later than was the pen above but predating the white dot, Lifetime models and their nail-like manifold nibs. Super-Flexible 14k #2 nib is very expressive yet well-behaved, laying down a smooth and consistent XF line, which widens to a BBB+ under light pressure (see writing sample). Strong snap-back, fine hairlines, and perfect flow make this one another great choice for the calligrapher – similar in these respects to pen #3 above.
Condition: excellent+. Deep black color and scarcely any wear to the chasing or imprint. Smooth, lustrous finish to the hard rubber. And no discernible brassing to the gold trim.

6. 1920s Sheaffer Gold-Filled Overlay Flat Top (full gold-filled overlay over hard rubber, chevron pattern, lever filler, 14k XF/F Flex nib). Measures 5” capped. A beautiful example of one of Sheaffer’s full-overlay pens of the 20s in the elegant chevron pattern. This pen has been exquisitely engraved with the “Square and Compasses” masonic emblem on the crown of the cap (see detail photo). And the cartouche on the barrel bears the mysterious engraving “E. Pens.” If anyone knows what this could refer to and/or how it might relate to the Freemasons, feel free to post to the thread! Flexible 14k “Self-Filling” #2 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF/F line, which widens to a BB+ under moderate pressure (see writing sample).
Condition: excellent/very good. Unlike many that crop up, there are no dents or dings to the overlay. But it does exhibit brassing to the ends of the cap and barrel as well as just above the cap band (photo of cap-sides shows the worst of it). It polishes up quite nicely nonetheless. No other notable blemishes.
