Condition (n.b.): All pens listed below have been disassembled, cleaned and restored with new sacs/o-rings installed in the last couple months. Each is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other problems. These pens have no cracks, chips, personal engravings, missing parts, bent nibs, misaligned tines, or threading issues.

1. c.1930 Conklin Endura Symetrik Ringtop (Black & Bronze, GPT, lever filler, 14k XF Flex nib). Measures 4 5/8” capped and 5 1/2” posted. Ringtop model with inlaid gold crescent logo on the cap. A motif elegantly repeated on the lever and breather hole, hearkening back to the Conklin Crescent-Filler: the pen that put the company on the map. Flexible 14k Conklin Endura nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a BB+ under moderate pressure (see writing sample). Condition: excellent, with no brassing to the trim aside from a sliver to the bottom edge of the lower cap ring around 1/2 of the band. Deep, fully legible imprint and smooth, lustrous finish to the celluloid. Price: $130 $115

2. 1930s Conklin Nozac (green marble with transparent barrel striations, piston filler, GPT, 14k XF Flex nib). Manufactured in the 1930s in Toledo, OH, the piston-filling Nozac is something of an American counterpart to Pelikan’s 100 and later 400. Nozacs are typically smooth, dependable writers that hold plenty of ink. The stainless steel internals and thick plastics of these well-made pens give them a nice heft in the hand. This is the full-sized round model, measuring 5 1/8” capped. Its Flexible 14k nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a BB+ under moderate pressure (see writing sample). Condition: excellent, with no wear to the trim aside from a little high-point brassing to the top and bottom of the clip. Superb transparency to the barrel (photo). Deep, fully legible imprint and smooth, lustrous finish to the celluloid. Fully restored with new o-rings a couple months ago – piston operates smoothly and barrel fills to the hilt. Price: $180 SOLD

3. c.1930 Conklin Endura Symetrik (green marbled, GPT, lever filler, 14k XF Semi-Flex nib). This is the full-sized model, measuring 5 1/8” capped. A fine example of Conklin’s premier range of pens from the 30s, with gold inlaid crescent logo on the cap. A motif elegantly repeated on the lever and breather hole, hearkening back to the Conklin Crescent-Filler: the pen that put the company on the map. Semi-Flex 14k Conklin Endura nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line with mild variation under pressure (writing sample). Condition: excellent, with no wear to the trim aside from a couple tiny slivers of brassing to the clip (about 2mm long). Deep, fully legible imprint and smooth, lustrous finish to the celluloid. Price: $190 $175

4. 1920s “Crescent” – Conklin Sub-brand (royal blue, GPT, lever filler, 14k Superflex F nib). This unusual pen is in most respects identical to Conklin’s flat-top All American pens from the 20s, including the patent number on the lever. But the imprints on the barrel and nib read simply “Crescent.” A scarce example of a Conklin sub-brand pen – so much so that this Conklin collector has never seen another like it. Super-flexible 14k Crescent nib is delightfully soft, laying down a smooth and consistent F line (note revision) that widens to a BBB+ under light pressure (writing sample). Condition: near mint. This pen appears to have hardly ever been used. No brassing to the trim, factory-deep imprint, and plastic showing scarcely any drawer-wear even. Barrel and cap retain their bright blue hue with no discoloration. Price: $200 SOLD

5. 1920s Conklin Endura Ringtop (Verde, GPT, lever filler, 14k XF Flex nib). Measures roughly 4 1/2” capped and 5 1/2” posted. Ringtop model in the interesting light green and black swirl color Conklin called “Verde,” accented by annular rings filled with red. Crescent motif on the lever and breather hole, hearkening back to the Conklin Crescent-Filler: the pen that put the company on the map. Flexible 14k Toledo nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a BB+ under moderate pressure (writing sample). Condition: excellent, with no brassing to the trim but for a thin sliver to the edge around 1/4 of the metal crown and a nearly indiscernible sliver (1mm long) to each side of the round part of the lever’s edge. The nib has a blob of some sort of hard substance near the section that I couldn't polish off. But this has no effect on how it writes. Deep, fully legible imprint and smooth, lustrous finish to the surface. Annular rings restored to their original red color. Price: $130$115

6. c.1929 Wahl-Eversharp Gold Seal Ringtop (Coral, celluloid, GPT, lever filler, 14k XF/F Factory Super-flex nib). Coral is one of the scarcest, most desirable colors of W-E’s Gold Seal pens from the 20s and 30s. Bright red/orange with cream veins, it’s one of the most vibrant colors in vintage pendom – looks like some thing erupted from a volcano. Gold Seal emblem with double checkmark indicating W-E’s lifetime guarantee. This pen has the same thick girth of a full-sized pen and is one of the larger ringtop models of the period, measuring 4 3/4” capped and roughly 6” posted. I offered this pen a few weeks back with a Gold Seal Signature nib, but there were no takers. So I replaced the nib/feed unit with a factory Flexible of the correct size (Personal Points are interchangeable like Esterbrook's Renew Points). This 14k Gold Seal nib is marked ‘Flexible’ with ‘M’ marking on the feed, but it’s really more of a Super-flexible F, or even XF with a light hand. Lays down a smooth and consistent line that widens to a BBB+ under light pressure (writing sample). A very expressive nib that would make a great choice for Spencerian and Copperplate styles. Condition: excellent. Gold-plated trim is unblemished aside from a hairsbreadth sliver of brassing to the very bottom of the lower cap band on one side and a spot on each side of the lever’s apex. Color is excellent, with only a slightly darkened band around the cap. Smooth, lustrous finish to the celluloid and fully-legible cap imprint. Price: $180 SOLD

(Note: This pen has been fitted with a genuine silicone sac from David Nishimura to preserve the color. These sacs are porous and tend to seep ink into the cap unless the pen is stored nib-up. Latex sac can be installed on buyer’s request at no extra charge)
