Or is this just a kit pen with a gold nib and a crazy price?

If Satan fits on the cap of a pen, why the heck is everyone so afraid of him? :p

Agree with Jon. No info on filling system either. One I don't think I'll be bidding on.

Hmm. Who would pay to have the face of Satan? This is not appealing to me.

Lump of wood makes a confusing background for the shots.

The confusion was probably intentional....

Hmm, good point. That would be sort of a jester's gift.

Hmmm...

- custom blank done by scroll-saw work. Tricky, worth some extra $.
- Statesman kit, pricier, worth a few extra $
- but fancy or not, it is a still a kit pen
- Like all the kits, it would be cart/converter, with inexpensive converter.
- inexpensive kit nib, so you take your chances...

I think most kit pen makers would sell this for a WHOLE lot less (most statesman kit FPs would be well under $100), but occasionally you see someone shoot their price WAY out of the park. And, sometimes, they get a bite. "If it costs that much, it must be really good, right?" Pricing is not a simple matter (there are long, long threads on pricing on the pen making forums). Having said that, the price on this seems pretty 'way out there' unrealistic.

Cheers,

Ken

Yes, but one must be careful as to how one words the thank you note. "I'll think of you whenever I use it" seems a little "off".

I actually laughed out loud at this. Chortled, if I must be really honest.

As someone who has had a go at making pens on a lathe, I can appreciate everything Ken Cavers says, above.

But it's got to be the ugliest pen I've seen in a long while.
I wonder what the scroll sawyer thinks of the satan's face. Surely it can't have been intentional.
