I recently purchased an Italic Nib Pilot Plumix. I was puzzled at first at whether it had a stub or a slightly oblique Nib, but after close inspection, I found it was slightly slanted on the right. So, is this type of pen best suited to write everyday cursive, or should it be used for calligraphy, with the Italic alphabet letter shapes?

It'll make your everyday cursive look interesting. You can use it for whatever you like- I've used the Plumix a lot and I'm no calligrapher.

It works well as a cheap italic nib. You can also place the nib in the Pilot Metropolitan if you want to change it up a bit.

Yeah. The Metro is a better feeling pen in the hand than the Plumix. Nibs swap over...just pull them out.

Pilot 78 G in broad is an italic nib. you don't even have to pull the nib, just unscrew the section and screw it into the Metropolitan.
