Interesting video. I just got my 220 a few weeks ago. I got mine for about $125 -- $100 for the pen plus the cost of a replacement hood; mine was cracked and leaking.

The 220 came smooth and polished, as is the case for nearly all those I've seen on eBay recently. Of which all were cracked: cap, hood, or both. :/ The new hood is textured and it looks cool and is nicer to hold.

I don't have a Lamy 2000 to compare. Despite my initial rather extreme disappointment with the MB, it quickly became one of my favorite writers after repair. It is just so enjoyable to use and I really seem to write better with it. That it takes Waterman's cartridges is quite convenient and it likes dry ink.

Thanks for the review!

If it has a gloss finish, it's a 221. The difference between the 220 and a 221 is the matte vs the gloss finish.

Thanks for that. I had a brain glitch. I knew mine is a 221 but I guess I got confused with mention of 220. :D
