Looks like a promising notebook to hunt down. Thanks for yet another informative review.

Very good review. I was able to track down these notebooks at a local Utrecht store. Your review is spot on. The paper is very good with most pens/inks. For the low price, this is a nice alternative.

Just a correction. It is okay with fine nibs and you have to find the right ink. Wet inks and broad nibs will bleed. Take a look at the writing sample an the blog, specifically the last image that shows the back of that page. It's okay paper for everyday lists, scratch pad type paper. At $5 though, I can live with that.

Oh man, if only your post had come out last week! I hunted high and low for a dotted paper notebook in B5 form, and eventually found somebody importing a spiral bound Japanese one for about $10/80 sheets. It's very nice and I'm not regretting it, but I prefer glued or stitched bindings, and the Fabriano seems to be exactly what I had been looking for.

...and since I sound ungrateful in the previous comment -- thanks for the tip! I am probably getting some EcoQuas anyway. And letting myself be distracted by other things in the Utrecht catalog while I'm at it...

Lol, you are welcome ardgedee. Hope you like them. I don't have a local retailer for these. Anyone see them online?

Utrecht has the A4 and A5 sizes (http://www.utrechtart.com/Notebooks--Journals--Notepads-Paper,Fabriano.utrecht) in both dot and graph paper. Haven't found B5 anywhere yet, and that's the size I really prefer for sketchbooks.

Reviving an old thread...Michaels craft stores sell them. I just bought the A5 for $3.99 (soft cover).

I just bought one of these last week. So far I am really liking the paper but I haven't had time to write more than a couple lines. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/26/ze8ymyqa.jpg

I bought two of these and wish I had not and I know they were more than $5.00 ea. (not including shipping). The paper seemed to suck ink in and I really could not use both sides. I tried it with my F & EF nibs. The paper felt rough, soft, not worth much more than a yellow legal pad, in my opinion. Also the pad came out of the cover the first day, pad is glued along the spine but did not hold onto the lightweight "cardboard?" paper cover. I guess it is just not fountain pen friendly enough for me, we all have our preferences. Thanks for your review, I love handwritten reviews.
