For your writing enjoyment is this red Esterbrook SJ with a NOS #9668 medium nib, new sac (from pen sac company via Indy Pen Dance), and lightly polished to bring out the depth of the gorgeous, swirling Estie celluloid. The body and cap still have various signs of wear in the form of scratches and dings and so on, but I didn't want to go overboard with the buffing so I removed the haze of light scratching.

This plastic, as you may know, is thick and tough as it is beautiful and the stainless trim will last generations looking just as smart.

The NOS nib is a medium, tipped Durachrome which should last for a long time as well and comes with the original box.

As one would expect, it is in good shape and writes pretty smoothly. I recommend a somewhat wet ink for this nib, like the Iroshizuku I used in the writing sample.

The pen starts perfectly in every direction with constant, reliable flow and handles printing and cursive with aplomb. Slight feedback (similar to my Metropolitan) with excellent flow and supply requiring virtually no pressure. It is like writing with a really wet marker. Quite nice.

Thanks to the ingenious Renew-Point system, you can replace this nib with others you might want to try. (Also I have a few other nibs on hand if you'd prefer them to this one).
