Pelikan M800 Brown Tortoise with out-of-production and hard to obtain oblique broad nib. Excellent writer with nice line variation in diagonals. Shows some signs of use, some very light micro scratches, hard to notice let alone capture on photo. Comes with all packaging. Unlike many of these, this one has a really nice pattern all around the circumference with no big black spots anywhere. Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/f9wfgrL

Price: 900$ worldwide priority shipping with tracking and Paypal fees included.

I'm surprised this hasn't sold. These were impossible to find not too long ago.

I’m also a little surprised. I paid 850€ for the pen with an F nib, which I replaced with an OB nib that cost me 220€. I sold the previous F nib for 120€. Which means the pen cost me 950€. I know of no way of getting this pen with such a rare, out of production nib, at a lower price than mine right now (~800€). The pen is also a fantastic writer, I’m only seling it because I need to raise some funds :)

Anyway, at this price I’m looking at further losses due to Paypal fees, shipping, etc. I don’t think I’ll be lowering the price. If it doesn’t sell I’ll keep it, it’s a fantastic pen anyway.

There’s also the thing that many of these brown tortoises had uneven finish, a lot of these had big black, colourless spots on the barrel. Mine has a superb finish all around the circumference.

I also do not see any other selling right now, except on ebay at absurd prices at $2000. With a generic easily obtainable nib. Here:

The guy on eBay is out of his mind. I found one on eBay about a year ago for $500 brand new and I jumped all over it. I’ve found they typically sell in the 750-900 range, which is right where you are. Yours is a fair price. Good luck with your sale.

There's another eBay listing that's even more expensive than the one linked above (plus $19.20 shipping which seems tacky on a $2575 listing).

The one thing these listings have going for them is the pens are new. Even still, the prices are silly. When I was on the hunt for this pen a few years back I actually made an offer on the pen linked above but he wouldn't budge on price. I eventually found a like new one and it's one of my favorite pens.

True, my pen is not new. But on the other hand, the price is significantly lower, the condition is as new as it can get (no scratch marks or signs of usage, except very light micro scratches, like hair lines, very difficult to see), and it comes with an exotic nib that is no longer in production.

Either way, we'll see. I'm selling for significantly less than what I paid (I mentioned all the numbers above and I'm being as transparent as possible). So I'm not lowering the price. I'm sure the pen will have a happy owner; either a future buyer or myself :)

P.S.: I know discussing the price in sales threads is a bit of a controversial topic on this forum, but I don't mind at all.

Sorry, I was just trying to point out how obscene the eBay prices are. I think your listing is priced fairly and will just take time to find a buyer.

No need to say sorry, I understood your message well, I just felt like explaining myself regardless. I honestly feel a little bad for asking for so much money, but it is what it is.

It's a nice pen. GLWS. How broad is OB when compared to a fine nib?

Thanks! I would have to measure the line...I’d say one diagonal is more like a fine (~0.3 mm), and the other a broad (~0.8 mm).
