CONDITION (n.b.): All pens listed below have been disassembled, cleaned and restored with new sacs/diaphragms installed. Each is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other issues. Nibs have been adjusted when necessary to ensure that all lay down a smooth and consistent line. These pens have no cracks, chips, personal engravings, missing parts, bent nibs, misaligned tines, or threading issues.

1. 1940s Vac Duofold Senior (Green and Gold, celluloid, Vacumatic filler, two-tone 14k XF/F nib). This is the largest model, measuring 5.3" capped. Green and gold marble celluloid with transparent barrel striations. Chevron cap band. Blue diamond clip signifying Parker's Lifetime guarantee. But what makes this pen especially unusual is the nib. Instead of the monotone V-nib one sees on the overwhelming majority of these, this one is two-tone: a feature particularly uncommon as it was made for only a couple years. The nib is firm and lays down a smooth and consistent XF/F line (see writing sample). Note that it doesn't have the usual sheen since I have chosen not to polish it for fear of removing the platinum masking, which is susceptible to thinning back to gold. There are a couple spots of such wear on the sides of the nib, so I wouldn't recommend polishing it lest you be left with a gold monotone nib (wiping is naturally fine, just keep it away from polishing compounds). Condition: Near-perfect transparency with light orange hue (see detail photo). Ink level is clearly visible as is the diaphragm, which can be seen through the barrel to extend when plastic plunger is depressed. The only notable flaw on this pen is some brassing on the edges of the clip and tassie. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no notable blemishes. And imprint is sharp and fully legible with 2 date code indicating 1942 manufacture. Parker's premier wartime model with all the special fixings. Price: $160

2. c.1930 Conklin Endura Symetrik (green marbled, GPT, lever filler, 14k XF Semi-Flex nib). This is the full-sized model, measuring 5 1/8” capped. A fine example of Conklin’s premier model, with gold inlaid crescent logo on the cap. A motif elegantly repeated on the lever and breather hole, hearkening back to the Conklin Crescent-Filler: the pen that put the company on the map. Semi-Flex 14k Conklin Endura nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line with some variation under pressure (see writing sample). Condition: no wear to the trim aside from a tiny sliver of brassing on the top and bottom of the clip (about 2mm long). Deep, fully legible imprint and smooth, lustrous finish to the celluloid. Price: $140 SOLD

3. 1940s-50s Conway Stewart 388 (blue and black marble, GPT, lever filler, 14k BB Superflex factory Stub/Cursive Italic). Measures 5" capped. By WWII, Conway Stewart had become one of the most prolific first-tier pen makers in England. There's been some debate about when the popular 388 entered production, from c.1939 (Lambrou) to the early 50s (Russell). The design, which resembles the pre-war 380, is situated between their flat-topped pens of the 20s and early 30s and the fully streamlined models of the 50s. This example is made of celluloid in a vibrant blue and black marble pattern with triple cap bands and black hard rubber accents (section, feed, crown/inner cap). The 14k CS nib packs quite a punch. It's a Super-flexible and the tipping has been shaped by the factory to be a Stub verging on a Cursive Italic. Unflexed, it lays down a smooth and consistent BB on the down-stroke and F on the cross-stroke. And under light pressure, that line widens to a BBB+ (see writing sample). Generous flow under pressure and strong snap-back. It's a combination that will add an expressive flair to your writing, whether you're using it for quick note-taking or calligraphic correspondence. Condition: Trim is spectacularly clean aside from slivers of wear to the edges of the lever and around the thin washer for the clip. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no notable blemishes. And imprint is sharp and fully legible. Price: $180 SOLD

4. 1940s Eversharp Skyline Demi Modern Stripe (Garnet moire celluloid, GPT, lever filler, 14k XXF Needlepoint Manifold nib). This is the Demi model, measuring 4.9" capped. Eversharp's colorful range of celluloid (not polystyrene) Skylines in patterns they dubbed "Modern Stripe" are especially sought after owing to their beauty and scarcity. The Garnet moire color is the scarcest of these – IMHO the prettiest too. The pattern has an eye-catching depth and chatoyance in person. These pens actually sold at a lower price-point when new and were equipped with comparatively plain and modest nibs. The Manifold Needlepoint 14k nib in this one would be suitable for those who write in a very small hand or for fine detail work in drawing. It lays down a firm yet smooth and consistent XXF line (see writing sample). Written with upside down , that line thins to an XXXF (contact me for writing sample if interested as I forgot to turn the nib over for the one above). Condition: No brassing aside for the edges of the clip and finest sliver to the center of the lever from posting the cap. Smooth lustrous finish with no significant flaws aside from some scratching to the barrel from where the cap is screwed on. A true jewel with a nib capable of penning poems on postage stamps. Price: $150
