The end of the year is coming closer and I did (as I do every year) a quick inventory of my collection. 2018 was a busy year. Lots of pens went over my work bench but only a few went into the collection.

from left to right:

- Pelikan 1929, Jade (I already had a 1929 pen, but this ones jade binde is that perfect that I had to keep it.)

- Pelikan 101N, Tortoise and short cap top (this is a strange pen, the tortoise binde is completely integrated in the barrel, similar Milano production, and the nib and feed are friction fit to the section without a sleeve)

- Pelikan 500 in black (nothing uncommon, it just was missing...)

- Pelikan 400 Desk pen, Milano production/market (I really like these, and this one came with desk stand an original box)

- Pelikan 140 grey (although I don't really collect the Pelikan 140, I couldn't get past this super rare and perfect grey example.)

- 2 Waterman's Desk pens with RED #7 keyhole nibs (As already said, I have a weak point for desk sets and this two examples have both great nibs and at least one of them is in daily use. strange thing: they look like slightly oxidised HR but are not exxcept the section. They are made of dark brown celluloid!)

- Pilot capless, facetted model from the 90's (this is in my eyes the most beautiful capless ever. since I gave mine to the museum, I always wanted another one).

- Parker 61 first editon, probably surf green (I'm always working on my 61 collection and try to complete the color range)

- Parker 61 flighter, U.S.A. made, perfect condition

Another important project for me was to (almost) complete my Parker "51" MkIII collection:

only one color is missing.

Let's see what next year will happen...

I wish you all the best for 2019!

Well I'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't understand all of the hype about Parker 51 pens. But those look magnificent. :) Do they get used for writing with?

It's a select and generally rather quiet group, but there are others. :spy:

As ever, Christof, your photography brings out the best in some beautiful pens. Never thought I'd be saying "wow, what a gorgeous grey Pelikan" though, even given that.

Wow wonderful collection. I'm a fan of my 51 (a black, 1948 Custom Aerometric). The fine gold nib is firm yet allows for some subtle line variation and it has always been extremely reliable. The girth is spot on for me (I like unstepped continuous sections like P45 or my MB 221s). Such lovely colors!

WoW - that Jade is on another level - are you sure you didn't time travel and snatch that pen from the factory.

Also love that grey 140 and Capless.

No, these don't, but I have quite a few "51" in use.

I guessed that might be the case.

Have never before ventured into this part of the forums.

That is quite a collection of P51 Mk III 's

These days I only collect the very rarest of Parker pens.

Have never heard of or seen the last pen you seek to complete your set.

A Charcoal - Parker colour code 21

Have alot of P51's both unboxed and boxed.

Presently I am trying to work out a way to sell almost all of them.

nb

Have bought a P61 Mk II Caribbean Green - yet to arrive.
Never heard of one for sale before.

I'm not sure I've seen many Parker "51" Mk111 pens for sale.

Parker 51 Mk III's in Black and Burgundy are common.

The next level is Rage Red, Navy Grey Olive & Dark Blue, hard to find but not impossible.

The rarest are Vista Blue and Charcoal ( A very light grey ) , never seen either of these two colours.

The rarest of the standard production P51’s , in my opinion, is the 1961/3 Cartridge version ( Colours aside ).

Only ever seen 3, all Black ones.

Of the non standard ones - The Boucheron Solid 18K Basketweave ( only 20-25 made for the Saudi Royal Family et al )

I quite like those that don't have the rounded barrel end. Like Christof's collection. :)

c. ‘s collection of Parker 51 Mk III's is easily the finest collection anyone will ever see.

I have had the privilege of looking at other Parker pens in his collection.
They too are remarkable.

The very best of the best there is.

Nb - Have added a image of a Parker 45, it is unusual ( over the top, but real - 18K )
