Montblanc meisterstuck ballpoint issue-help?

Not new to Montblanc but my daily use meisterstuck from the mid 90s is having some issue retracting the refill... Spring is strong, seems to be the twist mechanism not allowing the plastic to receed in the cap.... Anyone have an idea as to how to fix or maybe experienced the same thing?

If not, can someone point me in the right direction for ballpoint questions?

Tip to anyone having similar issues, change the spring!
