Condition (n.b.): All pens listed below have been disassembled, cleaned and restored with new sacs/diaphragms installed in the last couple weeks. Each is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other issues. Nibs have been adjusted when necessary to ensure that all lay down a smooth and consistent line. These pens have no cracks, chips, personal engravings, missing parts, bent nibs, misaligned tines, or threading issues.

Writing Samples: Line widths are measured with a digital caliper but should be considered approximate guidelines: line width may vary depending on type of ink and paper used as well as amount of pressure applied. All writing samples in this listing were made on Rhodia dot paper using Waterman Serenity Blue.

1. 1948 Parker 51 Aero (Cocoa, Lucite w/ Lustraloy cap and GF clip, Aerometric Filler, 14k XF nib). Measures 5.4" capped. This is a first-year Aerometric 51 in the uncommon Cocoa color with Lustraloy cap and gold-filled clip. It is filled by simply unscrewing the barrel, submersing the nib, and depressing the tab on the filler 4 times (as imprinted on the filler unit itself). It's one of the simplest, most durable, and reliable vintage filling systems. 14k P51 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line (.3mm). Condition: No dents or dings on the cap – just the typical microscratches. Clip is mostly clean with minor high-point wear down the center. Sharply pointed grey jewel on cap. Barrel has a smooth and lustrous finish with no significant blemishes – scarcely any microscratches even. Imprint is a little weak but still fully legible. A fine example of Parker's midcentury workhorse in one of the more sought after colors. Price: $140 SOLD

2. 1948 Parker 51 Vac (Cordovan, Lucite w/ 1/10 16k GF cap, Vacumatic Filler, 14k Stubby XF nib). Measures 5.5" capped. In 1948, as alluded to above, Parker began to phase out the Vacumatic 51 in favor of the Aerometric. This is a late Vac 51 in the color Parker called Cordovan, a dark brown/maroon hue. The color is complemented by the 16k gold filled cap with a vertical line and bar pattern and blue diamond clip (the diamond signifying Parker's lifetime guarantee). Vacumatic filling system allows the pen to hold more ink than does an Aerometric. To fill, one simply unscrews the bindcap, submerses the nib, and depresses the plunger 5-6 times. 14k P51 nib lays down a stubby XF line that is smooth and consistent (see [writing sample](https://imgur.com/qlYDPjp)). It's not a full-fledged stub, but there is some slight variation between the down-stroke (.3mm) and cross-stroke (.1-.2mm) that gives it a stubby feel. It's a great nib for note taking as it manages to be buttery smooth while adding some stylistic flair and keeping one's letterforms neat and straight. Condition: Short of a stickered NOS example, you'd be hard pressed to find a 51 in better shape. The cap has no dents, dings, or any other notable blemishes. No brassing whatsoever to the clip and tassie. Grey cap jewel is sharply pointed. Barrel is smooth and lustrous with little to no microscratching. Imprint is sharp and fully-legible. And all the old wash is still present in the clutch ring (only pens with GF caps came with these two-tone clutch rings). A beautiful pen and a delightful writer. Price: $160 SOLD

3. 1946 Parker 51 Vac (Black, Lucite w/ 1/10 14k GF cap, Vacumatic filler, 14k XF nib). Measures 5.3" capped. Black is one of the more common colors, but this one has a 14k gold-filled cap in a rather uncommon wave and bar pattern. Blue diamond clip signifying Parker's lifetime guarantee. Vacumatic filling system allows the pen to hold more ink than an Aerometric. To fill, one simply unscrews the bindcap, submerses the nib, and depresses the plunger 5-6 times. 14k P51 nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF verging on an XXF (.2mm). A great nib for detail work or writing in a small hand. Condition: Cap is free of blemishes aside from a light, hairsbreadth thin scratch around the back of the cap and one ding on the side (see detail photo below). No brassing to the clip and tassie. Grey cap jewel is sharply pointed. Barrel is smooth and lustrous with little to no microscratching but there is a ring of light-colored scratches around the end of the barrel from where the cap has been posted over the years and most of the gold wash in the clutch ring is worn away. Another great EDC but one without the attendant concerns of a perfect example. Price: $130

4. 1940s Vac Duofold Senior (green and gold Pearl, celluloid, Vacumatic filler, two-tone 14k XF nib). This is the largest model, measuring 5.3" capped. A decade after the iconic red and black Duofold button fillers were phased out (see pen 5 below), the Duofold returned to its former glory as a colorful celluloid pen with Vacumatic innards and transparent barrel striations for viewing the ink level. The depth and chatoyance of this pen's green and gold marble pattern is a sight to behold in person. Chevron cap band and blue diamond clip signifying Parker's Lifetime guarantee. But what makes this pen especially unusual is the nib. Instead of the monotone V-nib one sees on the overwhelming majority of these pens, this one is two-tone: a feature particularly uncommon as it was made for only a couple years. It isn't easy to find someone who even has one of these for sale. The nib is firm and lays down a smooth and consistent XF line (.2mm). Note that it doesn't have the usual sheen since I have chosen not to polish it for fear of removing the platinum masking, which is susceptible to thinning back to gold. There are a couple spots of such wear on the sides of the nib, so I wouldn't recommend polishing it lest you be left with a gold monotone nib (wiping is naturally fine, just keep it away from polishing compounds). Condition: Near-perfect transparency with light orange color, but difficult to capture on camera owing to the distance between the striations (see detail photo below). Ink level is clearly visible as is the diaphragm, which can be seen through the barrel to extend when plastic plunger is depressed. The only notable flaw on this pen is some wear to the plating on the edges of the clip and tassie. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no notable blemishes. And imprint is sharp and fully legible with 2 date code indicating 1942 manufacture. Parker's premier wartime model with all the special fixings – would make a great EDC. Price: $160 SOLD

5. c.1930 Parker Streamlined Duofold Special (black, Permanite, button filler, GF trim, 14k XF nib). This is the long, standard girth model, measuring 5" capped. Streamlined profile and double cap bands. This pen is made of Permanite (DuPont's proprietary name for celluloid) with black hard rubber blindcap, crown, section, and feed. It's a button filler. Just unscrew the blindcap and depress brass button once to fill the sac inside. Firm 14k Parker Duofold nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF/F line (.35mm). Condition: No brassing to the gold-filled trim aside from the typical sliver on the clip ball. Surface is smooth and lustrous with no notable blemishes. Hard rubber parts retain their factory black hue with no fading. Imprint is sharp and fully legible. Price: $150

6. 1920s Parker Lucky Curve "D.Q." Ringtop (BCHR, GPT, button filler, 14k XF/F Semi-Flex/Flex nib). Measures 4.9" capped and 5.8" posted. Offered alongside their Duofold range of pens but at a lower price point, the "D.Q." (Duofold Quality) models resemble Parkers from the 1910s: black chased hard rubber with knurled ends in a basic, button-filling pen with patented Lucky Curve Xmas tree feed. Just unscrew the blindcap and push brass button to fill. This one carries a 14k Lucky Curve #2 nib with Semi-Flexible softness and Full-Flex variation, laying down a smooth and consistent XF (.2mm) line that widens to a BB+ (1.4mm) under moderate pressure. Condition: No brassing to the trim – just some microscratches on the cap band. Hard rubber shows some fading, appearing black in natural light but chocolate brown under lamplight. Chasing and imprint are both extremely sharp and deep with minimal wear. Price: $75 SOLD
