Condition (n.b.): All pens listed below have been disassembled, cleaned and restored with new diaphragms installed in the last couple weeks. Vacs are something of a specialty of mine and I take pride in the amount of attention I devote to each. Any dried/coagulated ink is removed from feed channels. All remnants of thread sealant and ossified diaphragms are cleaned away. Threads are meticulously chased. Interiors of barrels are cleaned and polished to remove ink staining and restore transparency. Sections are sealed using Ron Zorn's rosin-based thread sealant. Nibs are adjusted when necessary to ensure that all lay down a smooth and consistent line. And all pens undergo a week of testing, so that each is guaranteed to fill and write as designed without leaks or other problems.

These pens have no cracks, chips, personal engravings (except #3), missing parts, bent nibs, misaligned tines, or threading issues.

Line Widths and Writing Samples: To provide buyers with as much information as possible, I have started to adopt the following line width standards: XXF (.1-.2mm); XF (approx .3mm); F (approx .4mm); M (approx .6mm); B (approx .8mm). These as well as full flex line widths for pens with flexible nibs are measured with a digital caliper but should be considered approximations providing a general guide: width may vary slightly depending on type of ink and paper used as well as amount of pressure applied. All writing samples in this listing have been made on Rhodia dot paper using Waterman Serenity Blue.

3. 1942 Vacumatic Maxima SOLD

]4. 1946 Vacumatic Major (Golden Pearl, GPT, Plastic Plunger Vacumatic filler, 14k XXF nib). This full-length, standard girth, 3rd generation model measures 5 1/16" capped. Brown and pearl striated celluloid complemented by gold-plated chevron band and blue diamond clip. Single black jewel on top of the cap. 14k Parker Vac arrow nib lays down a smooth and consistent XXF line (see writing sample). A nib well suited to detail work or those with extra small script, it still manages to be quite smooth. It's not a flex nib, but has enough springiness to make it responsive so that it delivers more ink and a slightly wider line under moderate pressure. Condition: No wear to the trim but for one hairsbreadth sliver 2mm in length on the center of the arrow at the bottom of the clip. Excellent transparency of light orange color with ink level clearly visible when full (see detail photo). Celluloid has a smooth and lustrous finish with no notable blemishes aside from 2-3 shallow nicks to the barrel (see imprints photo above the M in 'MADE'). Imprint is sharp and fully legible. 5. 1937 Vacumatic Standard (Black, GPT, Metal Lockdown Vacumatic filler, 14k two-tone XF nib). This full-length, standard girth, 1st generation model measures 5 1/16" capped. The 1st gen Standard models have a larger girth with wider gripping sections than the Majors. This is an example in the elegantly understated black with transparent barrel striations. Double black jewels, triple cap rings, and aluminum lockdown filler, which is released into the extended, filling position in the fillers photo by rotating it counter-clockwise it 1/4 turn. Beautiful two-tone 14k Vac arrow nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line (see writing sample). Condition: Gold-plated trim is pristine with no discernible brassing. Excellent transparency of orange color with ink level clearly visible when full (see detail photo). Celluloid is exceptionally smooth and lustrous with just a handful of microscratches here and there. There is scrape to the surface coating on each side of the metal plunger (see fillers photo), but these are merely cosmetic and have no effect on operation (plunger operates smoothly with no sticking and fills the barre to the hilt). As with the others, the imprint is sharp and fully legible. Price: $180 SOLD
