The weather has turned fifty-ish (F) here in Breezy Springs and the motor heads have broken dormancy. They are roaring up and down the street in their muscle cars today. Other insects have come back to life too; there is a fly climbing the curtain in our living room.

I was outside in the garden this morning filling up my bird feeders and this huge, buzzing, bumble bee flew right past my ear. I nearly fell over trying to get out of it's way.

Ice on the ponds here, and a blanket of snow on the ground. I, too, filled my feeders this morning. But we have been warned here about bears soon coming out of their dens. Bees, pshaw. ;)

You just reminded me that I have put out a few bumble bee hives around the grounds here. I must check to see if anybody has moved in yet.

After weeks of unusually mild weather it's turning cold here. A hail-storm yesterday and wintry showers forecast for today.

If spring is here, why is it snowing?

It can snow here up to May. I even seen snow in June, on the high passes in Perthshire. And yet the daffodils are out and the grass needs cutting.

Our grass has already been cut this year, and our daffodils are out too. :)

Ah yes, but you're in the balmy south. We have yaks and polar bears wandering around here in March normally. If global warming continues at this rate it'll be herds of gnu and lions soon.

I just took this picture out of my bedroom window. Spring is slowly getting later and later each year. I am seriously jealous of people who have a lawn to mow before June.

I would hate to deprive you. You can come and mow my lawn if you like.

Yes I see the snow, but what an amazing view you have there.

If I could get out I would be on my way.

Well, Spring is on the way. Here in East Sierra foothills, the weather is bi-polar. One moment the sun is shining and birds are singing, and literally 5 minutes later we are in the midst of a blizzard. Now it is a balmy 24 degrees F.

Spring in France: daffodils, primroses, a few crocuses in our orchard. Days vary between brilliant sun and overcast.

And our most elderly cat is dancing around like a kitten in the sunshine. He knows it's spring, even if the wind is blowing hard and there are black clouds scudding across the sky!

Spring now. At least inside the house. The snow is starting to melt. In 2 or 3 weeks it will be summer.

She's eleven and slowing down. The robins are safe now.
