Vintage Pelikans

I managed to miss an ebay action tonight. I came home an hour too late. Does anyone know how rare the 1930s 100 and close models are? I have noticed them with Chromium-nickle steel nibs, but the this (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1938-PELIKAN-100N-FLEX-EF-14K-UNUSUAL-MINT-CORK-RARE-SUPERB-VINTAGE-FOUNTAIN-PEN/312595767126?hash=item48c828df56:g:LBgAAOSwE0hczVq M) has so far been the only one with a 14 ct full flex EF nib. Apparently I have to pay quite a bit to get a nib like that.

I would expect around $200. I saw that posting earlier too and, I have to say, nothing from the writing sample would lead me to believe it was a full flex nib.

Do you want that pen in particular, i.e. the 101?

Also, complements another FPGeeks user ChrisC, I have learned that you can find Chromium Nickel nibs that have some excellent flex to them, so don't let that dissuade you. The bigger issue on the Pelikans that are much older is that the cork seal in the piston mechanism is likely shot.

I aim mostly for the flex nib, and the writing example is pretty close to what I aim for. What I noticed was the "feather thouch" description, it might be nice for copperplate or spencerian. I guess there are lots of brands and models out there, I have noticed Mabie Todd, Waterman, and one or two others, identifying the full flex nib isn't easy, and it has to be fine or extra fine.

I may have made wrong assumptions because of the chrome and nickle content, chrome is very hard and gold is the most pliable metal, and I guess there are more factors to a nib than that. My modern steel nibs are hard as nail (the kind you hammer in).

How's this for a flexy CN nib?

2 diff CN nibs on an IBIS 130....no long tines or anything to give away their flexy nature. But there it is...
