MB 220 Cap

Howdy All,

Hoping I can glean a bit of info from all you Montblanc experts out there. I have a MB 220 in the makralon finish that I purchased for dirt cheap....because the cap is broken.

I've been looking unsuccessfully for a replacement for a while now but just came across a 227 cap. My obvious question is will it fit my 220? And if it does not....what other caps should fit a 220??

How badly broken is the cap?

The 227 looks like it is in the same family, going only by eyeball :)

I don't know for sure what models have the same dimensions as the 220.

I was able to find blueprint drawings from Montblanc for my 221. I suppose there are other blueprints available so you might be able to compare dimensions.

Also the 220 plans may say what other models the plans apply to if that makes sense.

Thank you for your input Azkid, The cap is rendered unusable, a big chunk is missing from the cap lip and the band has nothing to attach to. I have removed the clip, star finial and inner liner as I've seen some sellers offering just the cap shell without the hardware. I'll dig a bit more, but I'm thinking it's a fit.
