That Wahl is the kind of pen I would be interested in.

Ignore that, I misread the measurements. The Wahl is shorter than a Waterman 52.

The Wahl is 2mm shorter capped than my last 52. That's 5/64th of an inch! And it's much better looking.

My Waterman is 135mm capped and 130mm uncapped (incl. nib). Maybe 52s are not all the same size?

Okay, add another 1mm or 3/64inch for 1/8inch total difference.

64ths:

Correct - even just the two 52s I have left in my collection have a couple of mm difference in length. It's not uncommon to have slight variations in a single vintage pen model across years.

Okay, thanks. And sorry for derailing the thread a little with this excursion into sizes. (I haven't used the non-decimal system since 1971 [UK], so I get a bit confused at times) The uncapped sizes are 7mm difference. Does the Wahl post securely and safely?

I try to post both metric and Imperial for the benefit of all our interested Geeks. As mentioned above, it has to be anticipated that dimensions of Waterman 52s I have sold, others have owned and you now own do vary, which make direct comparison difficult.

Each cap posts securely on the barrel of this Wahl Personal Point.
