Just an observation before someone took the plunge:
It's a nice setup, but all I see is a wood-lathe,
which is enough for pen-turning, but not for custom pen-making,
which requires more precision and ideally the ability to cut threads,
which is the realm of metal-lathes, not wood ones.
I don't make pens either, but I do employ a mini metal lathe for my restoration work, it makes adjusting sections, buffing, making binde, custom parts, a lot easier and more precise.
