Hello,

I'm looking to buy a 2 chick PF nib unit only for a pelikan m1000. Preferred size is EF or F, though will consider anything as long as it is not damaged or flawed.

Pm me what you have!

Kyle

Kyle is looking for the older version of the m1000 nib, which came out from 1997-2002 for the m1000. The PF refers to the Swiss Customs gold stamp that was embossed in some of these older nibs. According to Bo Bo Olson over at FPN, these particular nibs were softer and more flexible than todays nibs. ( He'll then explain to you ad-infinitum that they aren't truely flexible nibs and that the Gehas he used to buy for 8 DM back in the day on ebay were much better. ) :clap2:

If you look closely at the m1000 green raden you just purchased, it has the single chick nib that came out after 2003.

Sorry for interrupting your search, Kyle.

All the Best.

Thanks for the info. I take it the PF nib units work in the current M1000?

No worries! I couldn't have said it better myself.

Yep! The older 2chick pf units fit in exactly the same as a modern unit.

I'm curious. Have you used one before? What were your findings?

Yep, I've used them before and have a few. I greatly prefer them to the modern nibs, but it's all personal preference. To me, I like that they feel more springy than spoungy and have well defined and ground tipping. Modern nibs have a kind of "blob" tipping, whereas the older ones were more intentionally ground and shaped. It's all just personal preference in what you like in a nib though, so they are not inherently better or worse.

I had a PF EF on my m1005 demo which "disappeared" from my pocket. It's easier to find the replacement m1005 than it is another EF pf unfortunately lol

I have a PF medium nib in mint condition (in fact, I have never used this unit and the seller told me it was new from a Marguerite). Let me know if you are interested.
