„Tsugaru Nuri" is a lacquer achieved by irregularly applying strongly pigmented lacquer „pulled" up with a special spatula.tsugaru = „to pull" or "to draw", the „Kumo Tsugaru Nuri“ (kumo = clouds) is achieved buy creating swirls with a stiff brush. After curing for 24 hours in the „Furô“ the entire surface is lacquered and saturated with gold powder. After many layers of transparent urushi lacquer the surface is ground flat and polished.
