Here are some photos of my newest acquisition: a Montblanc 244 Tiger Eye (1946). God, it is so gorgeous. It has a medium italic flexible nib.

OMG Susan

Gorgeous doesn't begin to do it justice. I could stare at that pen all day!

It never ceases to amaze me the sheer beauty of some of these pens. They certainly are works of art.

Many, many congratulations (any a little bit of envy).

Do you think you will have got bored of it by the time my birthday comes round in March?

Beautiful beautiful pen.

I am very lucky and blessed to own this pen. I spent way too much on it, but it is a pen I will enjoy the rest of my life.

That is...

You know what, if I can find such a pen next year with such a nib... That might just be the only pen I buy in the entire year. It is THAT gorgeous. OMG

It is indeed gorgeous. Congratulations!

A question about the nib: The photo looks like spots on the nib. Is that what they are? Does "it" affect the nib / writing at all?

That may be the first Montblanc pen that I've found truly attractive. What a lovely, balanced piece of work. Looks so much like many of the vintage Italian pens AltecGreen has been posting.

Spots of ink on a nib will not affect performance.

The pen was inked with Diamine Ancient Copper when I took the photos. I'm not sure if those are the spots you're referring to, but if so, they are just ink. The nib is perfect. I could've wiped it off, I suppose, before taking pics, but I sort of like the character the ink brings to the nib in photographs.

Thanks. Glad that it was just ink spots. I was asking because I've gotten a nib or two with what seemed like spots in a photo that turned out to be holes all the way through the nib.

Maybe they were ink spots at one time...;)
