Hi guys, i started collecting Parker's a few years ago, pushed the hobby to thw side for a while and now picked it up again.

While going though my old pens i remembered that i never got around to finding a replacement jewel for this Vacumatic.

Does anyone have any leads as to where i can find one?

Cheers

Based on what I read on Parkerpens.net this pen is possibly a "Streamlines Slender" first generation lockdown-filler in Laminated Golden Brown Pearl, with a Slender (two-tone) nib. It has a patent date of 3?????2 and a date code of 8 Made in Canada.

Any corrections will be appreciated.

It's possible that one of the US pen restorers/repairers might have the right jewel for this pen, or might be able to find one somewhere at one of the US pen shows.
I once sent a Parker Vacumatic to Ron Zorn (Main Street Pens) for repair and service, and that was returned with it's missing jewel replaced as he either had one or was able to source one.

However, I'm not sure that you will just be able to buy an identical jewel, like the one on your pen, for fitting yourself. You might find something similar on ebay, or you could email and ask some vintage pen repairers if they have any.

A WTB or Trade ad (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/9-Want-to-Buy-or-Trade) in the Classifieds forum could work, but it might take a while.

You could also keep an eye on the fivestarpens.com website for the jewel holder and jewel. I have purchased several parts from them over the years.

Thank you, i emailed them and await a reply. I'm sure a striped jewel for a old Parker is not the easiest thing in the world to track down.
