It’s still gray and cloudy here so I’m having another sale: this time a beautiful Pelikan 400 NN tortoise in an excellent condition. It’s what I would consider a near mint pen: the golden trimmings feature virtually no brassing, there are no scratches except the usual micro ones, the piston mechanism runs majestically. And of course, it has the beautiful Tortoise colors ...
More importantly the pen features an excellent, oustanding F nib. It is a very, very smooth F, with the elegant shorter tipping of vintage Pelikan: the line is somewhere between an F and an M in my Japanese-influenced opinion. As you can see from the writing sample, the nib tends to be quite “shady” and deliciously wet, probably due to the excellent Pelikan ebonite feeds. I’m not good with flex-classifications but I would call this a semi-flex going to almost 1.8 -2 mm (personal estimation) and allowing some really fun calligraphic experiences (see the writing sample). One of the nibs I really adore in one of my favorite Pelikan models (if not the absolute favorite).

Condition: excellent to near mint. It has been greased.
Flaws: the usual microscratches
Price: Usual price for this condition is around 300 USD (see the penguin website, martini auctions, etc). I offer it for 245 USD, but I am willing to hear your offers.
Postage: From France, tracked uninsured is usually around 15 USD (takes 2-3 days for Europe, 5 for CONUS, 6 for the rest, but this is just an indicative timing). Also keep in mind that the season is very busy but I haven’t encountered any issues until now.
