Pens? Nope. :offtopic:

I own a heat gun for restoring pens. I've been having a problem with two GPS units and their suction cup mounts falling off the dashboard discs of two cars. I did a bit of research and stumbled onto this:

Cool, I'll have to try that. I wonder what the heat setting was. Low, or fry.

To bring it into the pen world....

Plastic and rubber in particular have a memory. You can do the same thing with the rubber plug that holds a snorkel tube. Heat them until they're soft, let them cool, and you'll find that the fit around the snorkel tube is quite a bit tighter.

That video reminded me of watching (and listening to) a Nathan Tardiff video. Except about 90% shorter.

My gun was on high, the business end was two inches away, and the cups were HOT. The suction cups are now flat, and I'll see what happens with the weight of the GPSes over the next several days.

I never saw Nathan Tardiff. Now I'm not sure I want to. :)

It was mostly the voice and similar affectations. Don't rush to watch one, believe me.

You are totally right. It was not in the way I expected, but it does have something very Tardiff about it.
