One of my Waterman's pens is a 515 with a nib inscription of...

WATERMAN'S
MANIFOLD
14 ct
NW5

Does anyone here know what the 'MANIFOLD' and 'NW5' refer to? I can't find anything anywhere about it anywhere.

Thanks.

MANIFOLD means it is a very stiff nib intended for use with carbon paper copies.

W5 is Waterman Nib size #5 I don't know what the N is. Was your nib made in England?

Yes. Thanks. Odd how no one, anywhere, seems to know what the 'N' means.

Could the N mean "Nib"? As in: Nib Waterman #5
Just guessing, as I am in no way a Waterman expert.

I got my Pen with the Manifold nib.
It is an interesting nib write EF Fine line and is a very Rigid nib.
But my nib is very dry and needs to get into the tune to be a bit wetter.
