Ordered from Mr. Pen in the UK last Friday morning and received the next Thursday afternoon by regular post. Very fast service.

The Italix Churchman's Prescriptor with an Italic Broad Nib. It's a heavy pen with black lacquer over brass - 49 grams capped, 28 grams uncapped. One and one-quarter turn to uncap. Posts as securely as any pen I own with an audible 'snap' and takes some effort to un-post. I like that as that cap's not going anywhere unless I say so.

The nib, a broad italic, writes smoothly and has a generous 'sweet spot'. Not scratchy and with a little feedback that is forgotten quickly as it waltzes across the page from HP copy paper to Rhodia.

Paired it today with ESSRI ink so I'm feeling very British and will watch "Are You Being Served' tonight after fish and chips and a warm beer.

A classy black pen suitable for signing papers at my solicitor's office and meetings with the Prime Minister.

Tallyho!

I have oneof these. Very nice, but quite heavy.

I have oneof these. Very nice, but quite heavy.

It is heavy compared to resin pens, but that's not a problem for me. It has good balance. As the cap posts low on the barrel I don't find it top heavy in the hand.

I like bigger pens and find the CP easy to hold as I have big hands and a touch of arthritis in my right hand. I can write with smaller pens, even Lilliput size, but find them cramping my fingers if I need to write continually for a couple or more pages. For a quick note or two though, there's no problem.

I'll write with the CP un-posted most of the time as it will be a desk and home pen.

It is well-made and should last my lifetime and several others. Thanks.

I love this pen. It is on my list with another on with custom ground nibs/ An Oblique and a cursive italic is my choice.
