Mabie Todd Blackbird

This is a 1920s Mabie Todd Blackbird Fountpen in black hard rubber. These pens are not uncommon and will be familiar to many. What makes this one interesting is the condition: both pen and box are pristine. Even the paper remains soft and flexible. I'll let the images speak for themselves.

I bought it in eBay. I've sent a query to the seller, to see if he knows where it came from. It appears like New Old Stock.

I wrote to the seller to enquire about this pen. He told me it came from the collection of an old man who died. The seller had listed other pens from the collection but as he took forever to send the Blackbird to me the other pens were gone.
