Why is there so little on Cross pens

Yes, ever so slightly, Cross fine nib, slight audible squeak when writing

It is caused by friction between the nib and the paper. The friction is just right to produce a resonant vibration in the nib's tines. Using a different ink usually changes the friction to a value that eliminates the squeak.

At least here in Europe Cross Pens are not that common.

I own one (a present from my Mum) and I could not complain about the pen.
