Thanks to those who recommended the Pilot Pensemble. Purchased from Amazon March 3 and received it March 18 from Japan with fast shipping for a non-expedited parcel.
The interior is very soft suede, the pen sleeves are generous in size, and it is all strongly-stitched and glove-like leather. If anyone remembers the old Deerskin shoes made with the softest of tanned deer hide, this is even softer.
The roll strap is very sturdy and well-finished. Rolled with five pens it's approximately 7 tall x 3 wide by 1.75 thick.
You can buy a cheaper roll-up case. But none I found are suede lined, have flaps to cover all pens, and have the individual pen sleeves. I decided I'd rather pay more than potentially bang up my pens and howl in disgust at my penny-wise pound-foolishness.
If you're in the market for a roll-up case, this is the one to compare all the others to.
