So I found this the other week, and figured it was worth sharing. I know the bricky ones were discussed, but this one came to me with box and papers. These are neat pens, made by Parker, for Sears, and marketed under Diamond Medal. I had shot these quick pictures to share with an interested party, but figured they were worth sharing with everyone, since it is in nice shape. (note both sets of instructions, one set is for the button filling variant I believe)

Enjoy!

Nice pen. I recall seeing one exactly like it a few minutes ago!

I'm a little late to this party, but yes, my education on the subject of Parker pens goes on. First, my simple thanks to Rick for posting these pics. Second, the entire subject of sub-brands and outsourced manufacturing of pens strikes me as one that would reward more attention than it gets. I would like to encourage Rick and other knowledgeable collectors to post some of these finds. Even if they aren't the main story of a brand, they can offer fascinating sidelights on pen history.

Hi Jerome,

Re-badged pens (such as the one in this thread) and sub-brand pens (not quite the same thing) do get attention. PENnant Magazine a couple issues back had a big article on Sheaffer sub-brand pens made in Screaming Souls in Purgatory Plastic, in "brands" including Vacuum, WASP Vacuum-Fil and WASP Clipper.

Fountain Pen Board has had several rather large threads touching on Rebadged Parkers (sold by Sears as Diamond Medal, Webster, and Good Service and by Woolworth as Safford).

Here is a four page thread about the Parker-Sears connection that starts by offering examples of conventional Parkers from the 1930's, then showing the feature mixes of the pens Parker made for Sears.

I do recommend joining PCA to get PENnant Magazine (Subscription includes access to nearly all old issues as PDF's and includes access to the world's largest vintage pen reference library- old original catalogues and such)

FPB has at least a couple players (including Rick and me), who like this stuff. Indeed, Rick's pen promptly joined my rather extensive collection of Parker-for-Sears pens ;)
