The forum looks terrific here in Tapatalk. From what I can see, most features/functions remain intact and usable.

Of course, we'll know if replying works just as soon as I hit "send" here...

Everything seems to be working fine except that I can't view pictures that have been uploaded to the forum. I can only view them if they are hosted somewhere else and have been linked to. I noticed this after viewing my light box how-to thread and my motorcycle pics thread. Anyone else notice this?

Same here (using iPhone & Tapatalk).

I can see the photos in the $10 Lightbox post, but I can't see motorcycles or fireworks.

Interesting.

Very cool - I'm trying out the free app right now.

Great! What platform are you using it on?
To really experience the apps full usefulness you should splurge and purchase the full version. Most app stores will let you return the app within 24 hours.

I'm not seeing it when I use Tapatalk, but I am seeing everyone else's. Can anyone see it from a computer?

My error. I added a profile pic rather that an avatar. Now corrected.

Great! That's exactly what we were hoping for with the integration of Tapatalk. It just makes reading and posting so much easier from your mobile, especially when you only have a few minutes while at work, er, I mean at, um,...uh oh.

I have been having one or two issues with Tapatalk. It does not show me the Latest Unread posts - do you know anything about it?

On Android we have a "Latest" tab and all new posts show up there. Eriquito will have to weigh in and let us know if he's been having any problems, since he's using the iphone version too.

Not sure how to do a new post thread.... I am in virginia Beach and wondering if there are pen stores, etc. in the area.

Both my Droid tablet and phone are running Tapatalk, and I am seeing latest unread posts. Maybe take a look at settings?

I recently experienced an outage of my DSL (4 days. New drop, new modem, repaired now -- uh, I hope! so far so good, anyway) and was forced onto our iPad 1 and its 3G.

When I first attempted to surf fpgeeks it put up a screen with a big link-button to download Tapatalk. But when I clicked on the button, I was taken to a page that listed a Tapatalk that only works on iOS 7 and greater.

The iPad 1 only updates to iOS 5.1.1.

I tried posting a query to the Tapatalk forum

https://support.tapatalk.com/threads/tapatalk-for-ipad-1-ios-5-1-1-available.26834/

but after 3 days no one has been able/willing to point me to a version that would work on my iPad 1.

Is anyone using the current version of Tapatalk on their iPad 1? If not, what's the latest version of Tapatalk that works on an iPad 1?

Or am I going to have to do that jailbreak thing on my iPad 1, and then somehow find the latest, best working version (and which version would that be?) in order to use Tapatalk?

My iPad 1 has taken up permanent residence in the kitchen as a dedicated recipe book because there are almost no apps available for it anymore. It can't take the iOS updates that most apps require and the iTunes store does not keep old copies available for old hardware. Sorry. I haven no idea about jailbreaking an iPad or how you'd find an old edition of the app. Sorry. You could always just try loadign the forum in teh browser?

Thanks for your response tandaina, much appreciated.

My query in a nutshell, then:

Is anyone using the current version of Tapatalk (Tapatalk3+) on their iPad 1?

If not, which version of Tapatalk are you successfully using on your iPad 1?

Unfortunately, Tapatalk totally revamped their app in 2012 - they didn't just update the old one, it was resubmitted as a brand new application - which dropped support for iOS 5 devices. Usually, the App Store will automatically download the latest version that is compatible with your device, however since no version of this new app was ever compatible with iOS 5, it's not possible to use the app on the 1st generation iPad.

I'm not sure if the very old version of their app worked on iOS 5, but they removed it from the App Store anyway so it's impossible to find out.

You may be able to install the old version if you can somehow download it and then jailbreak your device, but I'm not very au fait with jailbreaking so you'd have to ask somewhere else.

Maybe a better port of call would be to try posting on the MacRumors forums? They too use Tapatalk and are obviously very knowledgeable about Apple products. You could try posting in the iOS Applications forum, or perhaps the iPad forum.

Thank you for posting cambookpro, and thanks for the pointers to MacRumors. I'm heading over there now.
