Who can fix dents in caps?

Which repair expert can fix dents in caps? I think there were such people, and can't remember who. And, of course, there is no reason for anyone but a serious repair person to buy tools they might use only once or twice.

In going through my "leave them for later" pen case, I noticed two or three Parker 51 pens with dents and dings. One cap has small dents, let's call them dings, as if someone chewed on it or gripped it with bare-edged pliers. Another has a serious clonking dent.

Who can do this work?

You may find that the cost of repair of a regular cap exceeds the cost a good replacement.

For other FPG members hunting for a bargain: one of the caps came from a black P-51 aerometric on EBay. The photo showed enough nib to show a large, plump, tip. I swiped it, but no one else bid. Most likely, they were afraid of the dented cap. Got it and found that it has a perfectly elegant black aerometric body and a nib that is somewhere between a medium and a broad. A "wow" nib. So I swapped it the dented cap for a nice lustraloy cap that had been on a pen with a nib that someone had tried to "fix" by twisting.

Conclusion: look for pens with dents.

Parker 51s weren't made in 1937, nor in '47 for the aeromeric.
