Inspired by the Dandyism of the 19th century and the grace of Balzac, the precious black resin and grey lacquer pinstriped barrel, the guilloché finish, and references the typical cutaway favoured by refined Parisian men which can be seen on this Balzac ballpoint pen. While the giant shape of the pen mirrors Honoré de Balzac's bold stature, the clip adorned with turquoise lacquering on the top signifies the author’s walking cane. The platinum and gold-plated rings references the different classes that formed in French society in the beginning of the 19th century, which were often a central theme in the works of Balzac.
