Hello everyone :)

I'm new here and interested with fountain pen for awhile.
It was a frd borrowed me her fountain pen since then I'm in love with how it writes.

I bought a Platinum Plaisir and preppy just for fun
However I didn't get a good experience from the pens I bought.
The Plaisir have baby bottom and the lines skips a lot under light pressure and fast strokes. The lines only comes out when I write with harder pressure.
The feed from preppy was broken right out of the package. The feed wasn't contacting with the nib so the ink couldn't flow out at all. It was very unfortunate.

Despite being like that, I still enjoying using my Plaisir.
and it made me curious about higher-end fountain pens if it will make any difference.
E.g. Draw lines fast and light pressure without skipping

I just dislike how I drew fast lines it skips and have to really sticking the pen to the paper just to draw a clear line but I am grateful with what I have ;)
But anyway I wasn't venting about how bad my fountain pens were.
That was the story how I got into fountain pen perhaps.

I am going to buy a Pilot Falcon and Platinum 3776! I am so excited

You should not have to use ANY pressure to make a fountain pen write and for most fountain pens pressing hard is simply abuse.

Welcome!

No need to spend a lot to get a fountain pen that writes nicely without the fuss or pressure you describe.

A Pilot Metropolitan or Kakuno would very likely write very well for under $25. I've bought several and every one has written perfectly out of the box.

I've had bad luck with Lamy Safaris but if you get a good one or can adjust it a bit, they can be very good.

I've also had decent luck with Jinhao 51A hooded pens. Those are quite cheap.

Thank you for telling me that! I didn't press very hard with the fountain pen ;)
