Anyone ever purchase directly from TWSBI (USA)?

Prices aren't any cheaper but they seem to have a better selection in stock (or at least not marked as backordered).

Didn't know if there were any problems or not...let me know.

yes. it's a good option, esp if you can't find what you want elsewhere. Quick shipping, solid service.

That said, I buy from retailers I like and want to support when they have what I want.

After ordering a rose red 580 from Goulet yesterday, I decided I also wanted the Prussian Blue. Out of stock in all the usual places, of course. So I placed a TWSBI.com order for the Prussian Blue 580 ($60) and a white Eco ($30.99). Same prices I would have paid at most any shop.

Unlike the Prussian Blue, the white Eco isn't momentarily rare. I just felt like ordering one.

I got the shipping notice within 24 hours. (Not Vanness times, but pretty darn good.)

I'd prefer to support an online pen shop. But I am glad to have this option.

Thanks! great to hear. I too prefer to order from shops or even better when they are local and I could (used to ) buy in-person.

You'll have no problems dealing directly with TWSBI. It's unfortunate that, for some reason, ordinary retailers cannot get TWSBI stock to sell, yet you can go to TWSBI and buy it directly. I bought a Rose Gold 580 (B) the day it became available from one general retailer. I wanted to also buy a 1.1 stub nib, but that was never available. I've been waiting two months now for it to be restocked by the retailer (actually, ANY retailer), but it's totally unavailable. But I could buy one directly from TWSBI today if I wanted to. I'd much prefer to support pen retailers.

Purchases I have made directly from TWSBI over the years have always been exemplary. They respond well, ship quickly and fairly and take responsibility for their products (with one exception I've mentioned elsewhere). For some reason, they do not charge sales tax at this time (they never have so far), and I'm not sure why. They do charge for shipping.

A tip: If you have access to an Amazon Prime account, TWSBI sells most of its stock there, and you can have it shipped free. It's sold and fulfilled directly by TWSBI, so it may be a way to purchase direct from TWSBI and bypass the shipping charge.

Just didn't know if ordering direct from the manufacturer would occur quickly, if they were accurate in having items in stock, etc. You just never know when ordering direct vs from a retailer.
Not related to FP's but I've had problems with other types of products when ordering directly.
