Yesterday, I had the pleasure of virtually hanging out with some pen people... from two pen clubs !!

One is my adopted pen club the Lone Star Pen Club based in Houston.

And the other, the pen folks behind the Colorado Pen Show, the Colorado Pen Posse.

Apparently they invited each other and realized that with the geographical barrier removed, we all can "meet" and talk pens.

It was fun and amazing to see the same enthusiasm, the same camaraderie, and to see what others are excited about in this hobby of ours.

So, with the uncertain end of the pandemic (or maybe even beyond it), could online pen meetings be a continuing trend?

PS: @azkid, were you there yesterday?

I saw a notification on Facebook about it but wasn't able to make it this time. Maybe next time though!

I asked about online shows/meets on Pentrace nearly 2 weeks ago and got no replies. From this I am guessing that to be invited one has to be "in the club".

I should hope so. As other geeks on this forum I live very far away from any pen clubs or shows. How are these virtual meetings announced? What do we have to do to participate?

These meetings are done by existing pen clubs as an alternative to their regular meetings.

If you're interested in attending their meetings, you can start by contacting them:

https://lonestarpenclub.com

and

https://www.facebook.com/coloradopenposse

Of course, I don't represent them, just relaying the information.

You do not have to be "in the club" to attend the Lone Star Pen Club meetings. Just go to their Web site and ask for the link. https://lonestarpenclub.com/

Click on "Events" in the upper left hand corner.

Thanks! I have no knowledge of pen groups outside of this forum, PTrace and FPN. Will have a look.

I am seeking only to be a silent viewer, as I have nothing really to offer, but this may be a good way to see pens in actual live people hands. That may help with future decisions. :)

Hi All,

I am the President of the Lone Star Pen Club. If you would like to join one of our virtual meetings, just send me an email at lonestarpenclub@gmail.com. All are welcome!
Also, virtual meetings will be continued even after the pandemic is over on at least a monthly basis.
