Hello from San Francisco, everyone!

I've loved fountain pens since I first played with my Dad's back in high school, but only recently started buying my own within the past 3 years or so. I've a small collection that I rotate through (Pilot Metropolitan, Lamy Studio, Waterman Carene, Visconti Rembrandt, questionable recent eBay purchase of a Dupont Fidelio), and l look forward to both growing my collection (wife willing :) ) and learning about all of you!

Pre-lockdown there were several active pen groups and a pen show in the bay area.

There is the:
Pan Pacific Pen Club (PPPC) which is a loosely organized club that would in a normal year have 3-4 in person meetings with a mini-penshow, coffee, and bagels. Mostly vintage pens with new pens and ink sprinkled in. Also present would be parts and project pens.

Pen Posse at Peter's Cafe (the other PPPC) which is a non-organized club that would in a normal time meet almost every week at Peter's Cafe in Millbrae with easy connections to BART and CalTrain and 101 and 280. More of a user support group for pens. Lots of more modern pens and ink and paper and stuff.

There is a San Francisco Pen Show that happens the last weekend in August at the Pullman which is scheduled and fully planned to return in 2021. They have a website which needs to be updated for 2021.

There is also the Pen Collectors of America which has ties to Southern California and to some extent local since their mailing address is here. They publish the Pennant and a Pen themed calendar and host a library of old pen catalogs, manuals, and op ed pieces on their website.

Enjoy
