My collection is growing massively and I was wondering what everyone uses to carry their daily carry pen with and when they are stored what do they use.

I have a pen wrap for my daily carries, and a couple three pen leather pen holders.

For my storage see the thread here: Pen Storage (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread.php/2838-Pen-Storage-(BIG-and-cheap)?highlight=storage)

My daily carry is my shirt pocket.

I stopped storing my pens a few months ago. Now they (about 100+) are in 1, 4 and 8 pen stands on my desk. Nib up - the pen is inked. Nib down - the pen is resting. Nib to the right (on horizontal stands) - the pen is inked. Nib to the left - the pen is resting. I also have 3 pen cups to store the most inexpensive pens and nib holders. Which pen cup the pen is in tells me if it is inked or resting.

I like the idea of a pen stand, I'm considering making one myself, are you using a specific brand or type?

I bought most of my pen stands from ISellPens. Todd was fire selling them (or so it seemed) a few months ago. I bought about a dozen of them in various sizes, mostly under $5. I just checked (http://www.isellpens.com/category_s/1896.htm) and the only stands I see on sale are the vertical and horizontal single stands. The single horizontal is a very nice stand. The vertical one tends to tip over. The two pieces of the stand sort of snap together. The final stand with a pen is very tipsy. I am thinking of gluing the two pieces together.

My remaining stands are various models of 8 acrylic pen stands I bought on eBay after Todd's sale ended. I paid under $10 each, not including S&H. If you go this route, bide your time. The same stand that is starting today at $20+ will be available sooner or later at under $10.

Here's mine:

It was made by FPN and FPGeek user Trillium. There are 8 slots, two are larger and can hold a crescent filler if need be (I've had my Mark Twain in there before. It's like a really thick micro-suede. The think has been in and out of my bag (Mission Workshop's The Shed (http://missionworkshop.com/products/bags/messenger/roll_top/large_shed.php), great bag btw...) every day for as long as I've had it. Never had an issue all around. I am fully confident that this thing will survive a war.

Oops, when they are not in use, I have an old side table that I converted into a pen/pen equipment storage unit. I keep all my inks, ink samples, repair supplies, and pens that are getting some rest in there. I'll add a pic of it once I clean it up a bit.

I use my shirt pocket for my 2 EDCs. However, since I'm considering the benefits of carrying 3 pens I believe I'll have to start looking for a pen case.

I usually use a Montblanc single zip case as I tend to take one pen out with me. However, lately I've been looking at getting one of the old MB Bohème three pen zip cases. I prefer the zippered cases over the flap-over cases because I like the extra security of the zipper and the looks of the case remind me of vintage leather cases that were sold with pen & pencil sets by brands like Pelikan and Parker.

For long term storage I have a Delta Markiaro 40 pen case that holds most all of my pens except for the very high-end ones which I keep in their original cases. I'm also looking at getting one of the Markiaro 12 pen cases for next year.

For my daily carry I have a three pen pouch that came with some vintage pens. At the time I only wanted the pens, but now I use the pouch every working day. But I am thinking of upgrading to a four pen pouch. As for storage I use a wrap that was made for paint brushes, but works great for pens. That's all I need for my less than twenty pens. Ask me again in a few years.

My zippered folio is made by Libelle and holds 6 pens on each side in elastic loops. It has been very durable.

For carrying, a rather robust leather two pen wallet in an unappealing shade of blue. This was a mistake as it's far too bulky for my needs (I don't do large pens). Something slimmer is on its way.

For storage, a 36 slot Copic marker wallet like this:

http://www.sketchcalgary.ca/wp-content/gallery/holiday2010/copic72wallet.jpg

and a batch of those velveteen pen sheaths. A good inexpensive solution for me.

I actually use the cases I make. I find it really easy to make the type of cases that I need for a specific task and it is really helpful. My 20 pen case is holding a whole bunch of my pens. 41534154 This was just the prototype case, but the design is the same for the other 20 pen case I have made.

I like the basic design of your case but I have a thing against cases that allow pens to touch. How do you see wear on the clips being an issue with your case? A lot of times this is why cases have a felt flap or some sort of divider in between the opposing portions of the case.

I actually don't have any problems because I move my clips to the side when I put them in so I put them all to the left and that makes sure they are unable to touch each other. I personally hate flaps, but I do offer the option to get a flap on my etsy store. I just don't like them myself. I want to get to my pens in a hurry so I don't like things that get in the way. You are not the first person to ask if I offered a flap Krazy Ivan. lol

I pack about 6-10 pens at work every day. I would suggest checking out the jetpens.com site. They have the largest selection of pens bags and cases that I have ever seen. The one I use is no longer made. It's a combination pen wrap zipper case. Now I wouldn't put my MB 146 in there, but it's great for my Platinum Preppies, Indian Eyedroppers, etc.

Well, for storage at home I just keep them piled up in my pen work area and/or in toothbrush holders. Most of mine are crap so that is not an issue. The rest (parts pens) are in indivudual zip-locks in a plastic grocery back plopped in a corner in a back room.

I just got this case. I had to bid on the Pelikan T20 3x1 ballpoint (below the pouch) to get it. Unfortunately, it is clearly a ballpoint pouch, as only pens 5 1/4" long and 1/2" diameter or less will fit. My Sheaffer Craftsman (thin) is really just a bit too long but the Pelikan M150 fits perfectly. I actually put the clip of the Sheaffer in between the tubes so as not to stretch it. It is as shown here for artistic reasons.

The case was pretty ragged, but I rubbed in a dab of SWIZÖL Lederpflegemlich (Swissvax Leather Milk in the US) on it and that gave it new life. When my M100 arrives it will join the M150 in there and I will find another one for the Sheaffer.

I received one of these earlier this week:

It's a bit early to give a offer a full assessment, but it's well made, extremely light and seems surprisingly robust. I don't own any truly outsize pens, but it'll take a couple of Ahabs with ease; three "normal" sized pens are fine. Potential downsides are the lack of internal dividers and a very tight snap fastener - I really hope that's going to ease up a bit. A pretty good alternative to the usual leather pouches methinks.

I personally don't own any that aren't leather. The two that didn’t particularly stand out to you are my business card holder (far left) and my 147 Le Grand Traveler case.
I also forgot to take a picture of this nifty little guy. It’s also a business card holder that can hold a (very) small notepad and my 114 Mozart fountain pen. It fits great in a suit jacket pocket and it gets a lot of use.

Yes, surprisingly so. It's made around a fabric lining, so the cork is thin enough to bend easily.

I wonder if there is a six pen carry. I don't like the Franklin-Christoph Penvelope sadly. May just get a one of their neck holster things for my daily writer I guess if nobody knows of a better idea.

Right now i am carrying six pens on me. Sounds a bit overboard to some I bet. But here is a list of the pens and how they are carried.

In a 4 pen case
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009365J1M/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Falcon Soft Fine with Noodler's Liberity Elisum
Franklin-Christoph Model 29 Bellus with EF Steel Nib and MB LE Albert Elinstien
Metal Falcon Soft Extra Fine with Diamine Ancient Copper
Franklin-Christoph Model 29 Bellus in Red with a Masuyama Needlepoint Steel Nib feed MB LE Divinci Red Chalk

In a Franklin-Christoph Command Center Folio
Franklin-Christoph 27 Collegia with a Masuyama MI feed Noodler's Kung Te-Cheng with a 25% Distilled Water chaser
This is my current general writing pen. So it sleeps with my bound journal

Running loose and free in my jeans next to my phone is a Parker IM 5th... I know Parker is saying its the next best thing, but I agree with Doc Brown, its a fineliner with a fake nib. On the other hand it works well for me, where some fineliners don't like my hand at any angle.

If anyone wants to debate why someone needs six pens, or the value of the Parker 5ths. I am open to it in any medium including pen and paper

After losing my Edison for 24 hours, now only certain pens are allowed out of the house. The Plumix, Hero, and Lamy travel in an oversized fleece glove kept in my purse, one to a finger.

Yes, your story is what prompted the purchase of a the Collegia with its Masuyama MI... I don't want to lose even the cheapest of my Brian Grey Pens, not even my production Goulet cappuccino. which i am sure will be easy to replace as long as both Brians are healthy and working

Adding for Clarification that I think is unnecessary but I want to say it anyway
Any pen that I gift to a FPGeek or someone i believe to be growing into one (Like my 14 year old Niece type person) is not lost. It has been adopted into a loving home

I am well aware I am on the Crazy Side of Geek. Deal with it

Andersonpens has a 6 pen leather case. Also I know there is a far more expensive 6 pen case from Visconti.

I use my shirt pocket, which God intended all shirts to have, for transport of up to five pens and a pencil.

Daily carry is usually four units, as it is today.

That's an interesting pack. What is it?

My EDC is usually kept in a Nomadic PE-06 (http://www.jetpens.com/Nomadic-PE-06-Side-Zipper-Pencil-Case-Black/pd/5906), which is good for three average-sized pens on one side plus two more average-or-large pens on the other. I had to improvise a divider out of a thin sheet of foam to keep the pens on each side from clinking together, but usually I only have three or four pens inked at a time so it's not always necessary. I also keep a white opaque Signo pen in the outside zippered pocket for correction purposes.

it's a tri-fold Nomadic from Jet pens as well; and you're right if you just fold them pens scratch each other so i do put a micro fiber cloth in between to avoid that problem.

Parker IM? Surprised it's ok in your pocket if I'm right, I had one and the cap fell off at every opportunity.

It's a Parker IM. The 5th I am playing with. I have that, a fountain pen and a rollerball edition. All three are decent cap wise for a snap on cap

I have two things I use currently. All leather.

One is this small Daytimer planner which is empty right now. I got this nearly 20 years ago. Their refills are now way too expensive to justify the expense. I have a friend who made me two hand made journals with hand stitched pages. I am going to give her some of my favorite paper to turn into refills for my planner.

The other is made for a legal pad. I have had this for about 16-17 years or so and will soon be making my own legal page sides pads from some of my favorite papers.

The issue I had on both was the pen loop. NONE of my fountain pens, even the Sheaffer thin models, fit either loop. Then I remembered wet leather stretches. I shoved wet paper towel into the pen loops and let them soak up water for a while then slowly worked a couple pens of different thicknesses into the loop. I left the wider one in until the leather dried. This is how cowboys got brand new boots to fit better. Worked like a charm.

Soon, I will have a leather 2 pen carrying case as well. I won it from a PIF thread here yesterday :)

In my case it's a Parker 5th, an overpriced fine liner that works for me where most fine liners don't
When I get my INK I will tell you how a fountain pen fares.

Not that I've noticed. They are generally upright and I don't do eyedroppers. For as long as I remember your question, I won't do EDs. When I do, I'll remember your question once the inevitable occurs.

Wondering if Otter Box makes pen cases.....

The Otterbox Drybox 2000 (http://www.otterbox.com/OtterBox-Drybox-2000/OTR3-2000S,default,pd.html?dwvar_OTR3-2000S_color=20&start=2&cgid=otterbox-2000-cases) looks like it would be good for four pens as long as they're not oversized. Hard to tell because the specs don't say whether the interior dimensions include interior padding or not (since some versions of some models are unlined).

But wouldn't you rather take advantage of the opportunity to tell everybody you carry your Pelikans in a Pelican (http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1030)? The 1030 looks like you should be able to store a total of six pens: three strapped to each side.

I know I already answered but just added something new to my pen carrier collection. I won this here on FPG in the PIF section and absolutely love it. It enables me to carry a medium and a fine at all times. Or one pen with a spare vial of ink.

A few of mine:

I like this style, namely the four on the right. Are there any that aren't made from leather?

I personally don't own any that aren't leather. The two that didn’t particularly stand out to you are my business card holder (far left) and my 147 Le Grand Traveler case.
I also forgot to take a picture of this nifty little guy. It’s also a business card holder that can hold a (very) small notepad and my 114 Mozart fountain pen. It fits great in a suit jacket pocket and it gets a lot of use.

I sure wish I could find a used one of these in good shape for the right price. This looks ideal for my Mozart.

I use a "Case It 3-Fold binder pouch" for my pens. It is great for a number of reasons...

It is well padded
It has extra pockets for spare cartridges, cleaning supplies, widgets, etc...
Big enough to keep note paper in
Small enough to carry
But most of all it was only $5 from a sales bin in a Staples store

I have received a number of nice comments on it from far more experienced fountain pen users than myself, which always feels nice ;)

Below is a link to see what it looks like :)

Since I got this about 3-4 months ago, it is all I use: a Nock case "Hightower 3+1". Good materials, carries three pens, separated, with a flap, and a pocket that can hold 2-3 Field Note (though I use Curnow "Backpocket") journals. This is the kind of case I've always had in my head, and someone finally made one, and it's only $20:
