If that engraving actually comes on the cap, the first I'd do is replace it. That's hideous.

If it's FREE it's for me !!!

Thanks !

Yeah, it's free so I cannot really complain if I win it. I guess if it does come with that engraving, they don't want someone reselling it and getting full value on it.

While I agree the engraving is silly it is also very limited.

It's a pen I would never buy. However, if it's a free pen...why not?

Evidently my vision is going the way of my hearing...I wear bilateral hearing aids. What engraving on the cap is everyone talking about? I entered the drawing also.

Fred, why did you do that to me? Why did you make me read 5 pages of exactly what I expected the terms and conditions to be? Not nice.

If I were to win (I doubt it, but I did register!) I think I could put up with the engraving!

Besides it would do one of two things, make the pen outrageously valuable, in which case I could gloat for a bit then trade it, or utterly worthless, in which case I wouldn't mind using it for daily carry!

I don't mind that engraving on the cap, a free 149 will make me very happy.

Is that even intended to look like engraving? Just a bit of unsophisticated Photoshoppery as far as I can see.

Anyway, what's with that white blobby thing on the end? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-devil10.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

It does say in the description that it is engraved. I wonder if it could be filled in with some epoxy resin?

There's no curve to that lettering where it should be wrapping round the cap - it's just a semi opaque layer to knock the cap picture into the background with some text on it. Well, I certainly hope so! I'm not a MB enthusiast, but I'm absolutely confident that they'll do a far better job of the engraving than that.
