I recently received a custom Ranga pen which is absolutely superb.

Very kindly and generously, Mr M.P. Kandan packaged my Ranga with a complementary Fellowship Pillar Marble fountain pen.

The pen is an eyedropper pen with a medium steel nib, and I would like to pass on Mr Kandan's generosity to a fellow member of the community.

Pen ships from Canada. I'll cover shipping.

Hmmm...perhaps a collaboration?
I would like to work with you to re-send this out to the community as a Flex-Nib Eyedropper.
I have two spare FPR Flex Nibs and I think that one of them would go nicely on this pen.

Let's do it. Shall I send you the pen?

Yes, I'll send you my address.
I will mail it back to you after I add the Flex nib.
This is going to be so awesome!!!

I don't have any Ranga pens and they seem to have some popularity, so it would be nice to have one to see what they're like for myself. If you're OK with shipping to the US, I'd like to put my name in for the draw. Thanks for the offer!

I would also like to be considered for this draw...

Slight change of plans: Detman101 is going to convert this pen to a flex-nib eyedropper and then we'll run the PIF for the modified pen. You're in the draw (as is stevekolt).

Just to be crystal clear, this is not a Ranga pen.

Ah, OK. Thanks for clarifying. I think I misread the original post. When you mentioned getting your own Ranga pen, I assumed the extra one was also by Ranga. I guess Fellowship is the pen brand and Pillar (Marble) is the model (color) then? I'm not familiar with them, kind of like how I only know Ranga from having seen the name on forums.

I have two or three flex nib pens, but they're all by Noodler's and have always given me some trouble. Having a different brand flex nib might offer a better experience, so I think I'll stay in the draw. Thanks again for the offer!

I started with a Noodlers Flex pen also, so I know your pain.
I hated mine so much I buried it in the backyard.
I will do everything in my power to ensure this "Pillar - Marble" flex pen is a reliable joy to use!!

Great news!!
I have received the shipment and will begin the process of installing the Kanwrite Flex nib into the pen tonight!
I hope to have it in the mail to the recipient on Thursday morning after testing the pen on Wednesday.
It will be cleaned prior to shipment and also include a mystery bottle of ink!

Wow...well, that went faster than I thought!!
I fitted the pen with the Flex nib and inked it up to test it, figuring that I would have to reseat the nib and heat-set it a bunch of times.
NOPE!!
The pen wrote flawlessly on the first try!
This is a reeeeeally high quality pen!
The winner is about to have a GREAT time!
*Please see attached writing sample*

Also @BayesianPrior please choose the winner for the pen :)

Great job Detman! That looks like a really fun pen now - almost wish I had kept it, haha!

Did you ever test the original nib to see what it was like?

Ok, it looks like we only had two entries in the draw: Dronak and stevekolt. I have randomly assigned one to LEFT and the other to RIGHT. So, Detman...pick a hand!

Oh no, I didn't test the original nib (which is included in the package for the new owner).
Hmmm...I choose "RIGHT"!!
:D

Oooooh...this is going to blow your Noodlers flex pens out of the water. I don't think you'll want to go back to them after this experience lol.
I owned a Noodlers Ahab myself and found it to be a great entry flex-pen, but not reliable enough for a daily carry. I had to tinker with the Ahab every morning just to get it writing...and 3 more times throughout the day to continue. No fun at all...lol.
This "Fellowship" ebonite pen is absolutely worlds above the Noodlers flex pens in quality!!
An ebonite eyedropper is a marvel to experience, an ebonite Flex eyedropper...even greater!

Dronak, please PM me your address and I'll get the pen and ink in the mail to you tomorrow morning.

Yay! :) Thanks for the giveaway!

Not for anything, but I see the Project Euler badge in your signature. I used to do that, too, but I haven't done it for a while. They're so heavily aimed at figuring out mathematical short cuts that I got tired of looking for the trick to make my code run quickly instead of simply getting a solution.

Thanks for giving me a chance to try a better flex nib experience. I'm looking forward to trying out something other than Noodler's for flex, which I'm sure is fine for what they are, but not something I really want to keep using. I'll PM you.

Always happy to further the "Flex"!!
You're on the right track...Noodlers are not long-term flex-pens (IMHO).
I think I stuck with mine for less than 2 months before I learned everything I could from it and moved on.

You're very welcome. Hope you enjoy the pen.

I solved all my PE problems with Excel, which is why I've been stuck at 91 for the last three years!!!
