Molteni Scarlet Red Modelo 55-S Fountain Pen – Omas Celluloid – 18K Magic Flex Nib. Condition is "Used".
This limited edition Molteni Scarlet Red Modelo 55 Fountain Pen with the stunning, famous and highly coveted Omas Scarlet Red Celluloid has been inked and lightly used no more than ten times. The pen is in excellent condition with no visible marks or damage.
With an 18 karat gold "Magic Flex" nib, the pen writes beautifully, putting down a consistent, smooth and wet line with a hint of feedback from the nib. The feed is ebonite, in the flat/ski–slope Omas style. It is an excellent daily writer.
The pen is a piston filler and holds roughly 1.5ml of ink with each fill. The piston operates well and is smooth. This pen can only be used with bottled fountain pen ink. The clip is rigid and in the Italian–style with a little wheel to assist when securing or clipping the pen.
This model was limited to 70 pieces worldwide and this example is number 13 of 70.
The pen is supplied with the original Molteni box, pen cover, warranty card and booklet. The measurements are as follows:
Length Capped: 15.3cm/6.02 inches
Length Uncapped: 13.1cm/5.16 inches
Length Posted: 16.6cm/6.54 inches
I am selling the pen as I am thinning out my collection of pens I do not use often enough. A pen of this quality deserves a good home, where it will receive frequent use.
