Seriously, $5 G's for a BIC? Or is this a hidden bargain for sale?

If you like that, this (https://www.ebay.com/itm/I-am-rich-paper-BUY-IT-Donate-support-me-/362864233568?_ul=IL) is a bargain.

Is this like cryptocurrency or bitcoin? A non-fungible BiC pen?

It's a BIC ULTRA...$5k is a bargain.

It's a BIC ULTRA...$5k is a bargain.

Does that mean it has fewer calories than a regular BIC?

You must be thinking of the BIC ULTRA LITE. Low tar and nicotine with 1/2 the calories. They're worth upwards of $25k. Just ask Mr. Miller.

I sent an offer but it was summarily rejected due to the lack of multple digits in the offer [emoji23][emoji2]

I wish the seller would have posted some funny descriptions with it, nevertheless it is still entertaining :)

Its the CAPITALISATION of Yoseph Miller that really sells the pen for me. This guy, whoever he is, must be worth a 5k markup.

Although, I do note that his previous item, the Limited edition Mario and Luigi dream team 3DS XL with Lego batman 3 and charger, only went for $75 over a year ago. Which makes me wonder: is YOSEPH's fame/celebrity new found? Has it only been in the last twelve months that his workaday possessions have skyrocketed in value simply through close association with the man himself?

A quick search yielded no obvious candidates. But then I realised: I was missing the forest for the tree!

It's not Yoseph that is famous: it's the pen itself! There it is, in plain sight this whole time. It's the Grail everyone always talks about. Just like in Indiana Jones, it's not some fancy gold-encrusted chonker that you might find in a Russian nightclub being filled with Moet; it's a humble, utilitatarian item. Hiding in plain sight. Yoseph is merely the guardian, the final level boss you must defeat to win the Grail.

It's becoming clearer. You pay the 5k, but you don't get the pen, fool. You then have to open a ticket with ebay, which takes years off your life, and still the Grail is no closer. Eventually, the ruling goes your way, and you get your money back, but what good is filthy lucre, when you want the Grail? You must travel to Yospeh's walkup in Queens and walk into the rat infested hoarders paradise that is his apartment. Your chances of survival, naturally, are near zero. Your chances of finding the Grail, not much better. You think Yoseph is giving it up without a fight to the death? Hah. Your doubts are already eating away at you, and you haven't even placed a bid. You are not worthy.

He's in Far Rockaway. Some hurricane did a lot of damage in Far Rockaway a few years ago. Maybe he's trying to recover from that.

Did you see the beautiful patina on the white portion of the pen?

Haha, 5k for a simple ballpoint pen. His DNA saliva has been preserved there if someone tries to sell such crap for 5 thousand bucks. I'd rather buy myself a whole bitcoin than invest in some pen that I might not sell later, you know. Right now, I'm just studying new cryptocurrency trends. I want to make money trading, and not only on bitcoin but on other cryptocurrencies. Also, I signed up for an application where a team of experienced traders will work with you (https://www.fatpigsignals.com/). This app will send me notifications with the news.

Just tossing this out-

I once watched a friend pay $500 for a plain, non-descript disposable ballpoint(may not have even been good enough to be branded Bic).

When he paid for it and the guy handed him the pen, he just also happened to be feeling generous and gave my friend a couple of tickets for a basketball game the next day.

In Kentucky, thanks to scalping laws, it's illegal to sell any kind of event ticket over face value. These were student tickets with a face value of about $10 I think.

Rather than, you know, driving 10 miles over the river to Indiana where it was perfectly legal to sell over face value, people would think they were getting around it by selling some sort of common cheap item(ballpoint pens were common) for a ludicrous price and "giving" the buyer tickets.

On the Indiana thing-despite buying on behalf of the state university located 2 blocks from Churchill Downs-we didn't have the pull to actually buy Derby or Oaks tickets directly from the racetrack. The couple of times I was tasked with buying them for our department, I bought through a reseller affiliated with the track that was located in New Albany, IN, which there again was located right on the other side of the Ohio River. The specific ones I remember buying had a face value of $70 and I paid almost $2000 for 4 of them.

Whoosh I don't know why this is a Classified For Sale ad either. :noidea: Perhaps so that he can mark it as sold when he feels like it and close it down?
