Perzactly that. It's 4:36am in the UK and I can't sleep. I've been counting sheep for hours, now drinking tea and watching two cats get totally confused by this human invading their space at such an hour. Four thirty six and sleepless is a lonely place to be.

You would't have happened to receive any mail from me yet? I sent one your way after I received your address

Lol. It is almost 12 here, staying up late because we have guests. I don't know if one of our dogs will ever stop her sentinel bark, so I might never get sleep either. :)

Hi Carl, nope, nothing here. The only mail I've had in the last couple of weeks has been small ebay purchases and a lot of bills. Funny how the post office never manages to make those get lost.

Hi Annie! That's never fun. Glad you thought to post here. :)

Well it was either post here or read some more of a not very enthralling book. The counting sheep thing is pointless when there are no sheep and only two demented cats.

It's nearly 5am here. Still can't sleep and hardly seems worth trying since I should be up and working in an hour or so.

Aww, that's sweet of you but the way things are going, I doubt it would show up. Mail to me seems to disappear into a black hole before it reaches my letterbox. It really is very odd because my postie here is a nice lad who is thoughtful about leaving packages secured in my little greenhouse.

red in the morning sailors take warning?

So the saying goes. It was raining when I got up at 0h four something or other but it's stopped now and the sky is beginning to clear. It's warm - according to the gismo in my kitchen it's 22 degrees.

Thanks all for keeping me company in the small hours. I will shuffle off and do some work. :)

I usually dream about my next pen or ink purchase, and which ones I should get first. Then there's a raging battle inside my head because I can't make up my mind. Then I clear my mind and start it all over again. When this happens, I too get to sleep around 4 am.

btw, I'm GMT- 7 right now.

Hmm... looks like i am not alone. I am a night owl and often up until 2am.

But that's the time fellow geeks in other timezones are awake and active. So have plenty of company :)

When it's the weekend I sleep like a baby. Any work night and I struggle to fall and stay asleep. Sometimes I use those sound apps like Naturespace and Ambiance.

I do love the quiet of late night though. So peaceful.

Annie
July 30th, 2013, 02:53 PM
I like the idea of sound apps, thanks for the suggestion. What I hate is that internal conversation of 'Damn, I've got to be up in 3 hours and I'm going to be wrecked.' No matter. Another night is soon to begin and I'll hope for better. Somehow though I suspect I'll be back here around sparrows fart tomorrow. Sleep well all.

Today has been another (too) early start. I wish I could use a single malt as an aid to sleep. Unfortunately, spirits of any kind and me do not mix. I tend to giggle a lot, talk rubbish (more than usual) and when I do fall asleep, I have weird dreams and wake with a headache the size of Italy. There must be a better way...

The pen meet was fun. At one point, I looked at the table and did the maths of the values ... thousands of pounds. I got to play with pens I could only dream about owning. I've never wanted a MB...until I saw Rui's. I think it was then I started dribbling which must have been off putting to those who were eating.

OMG! This is so me. From "Damn it's 4am and I can't sleep and I don't want to" I came to " Damn it's 4am and I can't sleep and I don't know how to. Guys, what my dreams are about - it's nuts now! I once was so perplexed of trying to analyze my dreams, arrange them and interpret , that I got mad. While surfing the internet, it happened to me to read fairly comprehensible information from a good specialist when I came to article about a teeth falling out dream (https://dreams-meaning.com/blog/Teeth-falling-in-a-dream). The best one, yet. Amanda is a real life-changer for me.
