Hi everyone! I used to ignore vintage mechanical pencils as opposed to their fp counterparts, but after recently watching the movie The Jungle Cruise it appears I have been caught with the mechanical pencil bug. They used an 1920s Parker Duofold jade pencil I believe in the film, and after seeing it I wanted one to go with my Duofold Senior fp. So I have managed to score a Jade one off eBay, but does anyone know the type of eraser refill that it fits? In addition, I have already seen others comment that 1.1 lead seems to be the standard for the era so will Retro 51 1.15mm refills work? thanks in advance for any insight that can be shared!

Got my pencil today, and it’s in stellar condition, at least on the outside, it seems part of the casing has broken, and while still functional, makes part of the top stick out. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? If I put some pressure with my finger on the casing it seems to resolve the issue, so maybe some tape? Sorry if this may be in the wrong forum, I didn’t want to create another post in order to keep things tidy.

Wonderful design, for a mechanic what you need!))

Older mechanical pencils often have a brass or steel ferrule around the eraser (which is most often fossilized). I've been carefully chipping the dried stuff out and then using the ferrule to cut a new one from a drawing eraser. Replaced the erasers on two Parker Big Red pencils with white ones, which look a bit odd but work fine.
