Hi

I know I'm new on this forum but I need help. I have for over a week now been looking for a good fountain pen from Wahl eversharp brand. I swear, when I try to bid on ebay, it's always someone else bidding over me. I live in sweden, and I have even been up 4 am in the morning, only to lose an auction, which sucks.
So, what I'm looking for is a fountain pen (not skyline), not oversize but normal or small, no cracks or other damage and gold seal intact (no drilling marks).

The pen doens't need to be restored, I know someone who can do it here too, I just need a object to work with.

So, if you have a pen you want to sell, PM me

You can try the nice folks at Anderson Pens: http://www.peytonstreetpens.com/wahl-eversharp.html

I'm assuming you mean the nice people at Peyton Street Pens, which would mean Teri Morris. She's great to deal with. Just to mention to the OP: the pens you are looking for are fairly favored pens, so unless you get very lucky, you probably aren't going to get them for pennies.

is 300$ enough? ;) But I'm pretty pickey with the quality. Like this auction, someone bid over 5$ from me, I'm still very sad about it http://www.ebay.com/itm/200944598507?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Yup. I stand corrected. But then again the folks at Anderson Pens are nice too! ;)

Well, if you can work in that price range, you'll eventually get something. Sometimes - especially with vintage - it takes a while to find that one pen. The only other thought would be to go to a pen show, but I don't think that is going to happen in your locale. Unless you find an online dealer, count on waiting a while - a week is too short a time to find the perfect pen. :) It might not be as hard to look for inventory from reputable pen sellers online, but their stuff will probably be more expensive than auction sites (more often than not).

Best of luck. I've deferred getting a Doric until sometime further down the road. Lovely pens, those E-W pens!

Pen show, I wish! We are talking sweden, this pens where never popular to begin with and never forced to have in school. My intrest comes from a class mate who got a fountain pen from Brittan, I loved it from first start. Either I look for a THAT vintage pen on this forum, ebay or the one person I know in sweden who does repair fountain pens, who also happens to be the only restorer in the nordic contries what I know of, do you know how rare that is?

Anyway thanx for the link, but non of the pens did spark a intrest for me, sorry

$300 is barely enough. All of my Wahl Personal Point pens in that size cost around $375 although those are in the more desireable colors and in near mint condition.

At a pen show, I could probably find such a pen easily since I can find pens in lesser conditions. Remember that condition is king.

There are plenty of dealers of vintage pens although many do not have websites or have a limited web presence. I'm hesitant to recommend many of those dealers. The ones that do will charge a bit more for the pen. The other strategy is to keep bidding on eBay. Try keeping an eye on dealers like five star pens (http://www.fivestarpens.com), Vintage pens (David Nishimura) (http://www.vintagepens.com/index.shtml), Gopens (http://www.gopens.com/), Martini Auctions (http://www.gopens.com/), Penboard.de, and a few others.

You might try contacting Syd (aka Wahlnut on FPN) as see if he has anything in that range. Since you are in the EU, you do have to pay shipping, VAT, and duty. You might want to look at EU dealers. Try contacting Sarj Minhas in the UK.

ave you tried using auctionsniper.com to do your bidding for you? It waits until the last 3-5 seconds what ever you set it for, and then it bids for you, often winning without giving the other party a chance to place a bid against you. I don't like to use it, but if it is something that I really, really, really want, then I will use it and it cost's all of about .50 usd per transaction.
