Hey Y'all,
Lurked around the Reddit FP sub for a while, decided to finally make an account here and embrace that I've now delved into another hobby

Thanks!

Depending on where in Texas you are, we have 3 pen clubs:

1. In Dallas-Ft. Worth, the Dallas Pen Club who also runs the Dallas Pen Show in September.
2. In Houston, the Lone Star Pen Club. They meet via Zoom and in-person.
3. In Austin, the Austin Pen Club.

I hope you're local to one of them. Get plugged in and have fun. :D

Hello, and welcome from New York. Joining a pen club is the best way to ease into writing with a fountain pen. Here's hoping you are near enough to any of the three. A club is the best place to ask, "What you you think of..."

My advice:

- writing with a fountain pen is more than a hobby. Maybe not quite a way of life, but it will want to absorb you.

- start with an inexpensive pen, like a Parker 45 from EBay and move on only when you need to. Do not spend so much so quickly that one day you gasp and turn away. (By the way, there is a thread about "starter pens")
