There was an effort in the American Southern states to prevent reporting of the Civil Rights movement. Our recent conversations demonstrated just how volatile the topic of race remains in the US. Critical Race Theory and being "woke" is a topic of scorn. However, when you sometimes get a peek into the history of Civil Rights, you can see just how difficult it was and especially when elected official were involved.
There is a concern that freedom of the American press is now being threatened.
